Worst rental car company ever! We paid for premium collision insurance, and during our use of the car, no damage was incurred. However, upon the return of the car, the Europcar employee claimed that two barely visible rock chips were damage that we caused (no bigger than the tip of a pencil). We explained that those were not caused by us, and regardless, we had purchased premium collision insurance. We had been told that with the type of insurance we purchased, we would not be responsible for any damage. Because of this, I did not take any pictures of the car like I usually would for a rental. Upon the return of the car, the employee insisted that we would not need to pay for the damage but would pay a 90-some Euro damage fee (likely more than the cost of any β€œrepairs”). Meanwhile, other people returned their cars without any form of inspection. This employee was super unhelpful and seemed to have it out for us. Moral of the story: never use Europcar and DEFINITELY never use their collision insurance. They are a money grabbing company, and frankly, this felt like extortion. If anyone from Europcar cares to make this right, please contact me, but I doubt anyone will based on my experience with this company.

The service was quick and efficient. We decided to upgrade at the front desk and took a better car. However, after driving for 30 min, we realized that it will not meet our needs (the car was perfectly fine, we just changed our minds). We drove back and requested to switch cars with another model. The staff was willing to help and replaced the car without argue.

We had a great experience with this travel company. They were very helpful while checking in. We had a group of 5 people and were planning to rent a Fiat Panda. The desk operator recommended that we upgrade to another car because he felt the Panda would be too tight. At first, we bought it was a way for them to get more money. We took the slightly larger car and were extremely grateful. We saw a Panda later and we would’ve been uncomfortable for our trip, so thank you for the suggestion and helpfulness. The car was great and the return was simple and friendly!

Went to find my rental car and was confused on my voucher and stopped to ask one of the 4 unoccupied employees at Europcar. The man was so aggressive and angry that I asked a question concerning another rental car agency that he frightened my wife. He actually articulated slowly shouting β€œdon’t you speak English everything is in your voucher!” Never a cause for rudeness or aggression in my book. Would not choose this company in Rome FCO.

My company asked for a regular compact car, Europcar gave me a Ford Puma hybrid and billed extra for it. I don't see the logic in this. Customer service didn't help. Luckily they didn't give me a Lambo...

The extremely UNFAIR behaviour of the person at the desk completely destroyed the image I had of Europcar. Never again with Europcar. They proposed me alternatives of my rented car without exposing the surcharge and the new prices. I was not aware and they asked me to sign for the consignment of the key of the car. Insterad I signed off a new contract and not the consignment of the keys. Be careful to book with this people. Highly unfair, already ready to play dirty. NEVER AGAIN with EUROPCAR in Fiumicino.

When traveling in Europe, this is the "go to" rental car company. Watch out for cheap deals through Kayak and others. Cheap can be risky in certain countries, like Italy. Small car rental companies in tourist areas may try to extort money out of you, by increasing the price, selling you insurance you've already paid for, and saying there is damage on the car when you bring it back, among other things. Beware! Europcar may be more money, but it's worth it. Try to reserve as early as possible. It could be less expensive and you'll have a better selection of cars. This time in Rome, Europcar upgraded me to an automatic- hybrid with GPS. Sweet! NOTE: IF YOU ARE SPENDING ANY TIME IN ROME. DON'T RENT A CAR FOR THAT TIME. PUBLIC TRANSIT IS CHEAP AND EASY TO NAVIGATE. THE PARKING SUCKS. There are ZTL areas where you can't drive into, and you'll be fined dearly if you enter these areas. YOU CAN TAKE A TRAIN FROM THE AIRPORT TO JUST ABOUT ANY PART OF ROME. The metro and buses are a cheap efficient way to get to all the places you want to see.
