Goldcar: People you hire are so unfriendly, rude and terrible. I had two different reservations and I was able to get the first one by paying more for a diesel car. I discovered a week later that the car does not run with diesel. I disputed the charge with my credit card and did not have to pay the charge. Second time around, I get another a set of horrible service personnel except one who was stopped by other employees from giving a car. Booked a car to be picked up at 4PM. Showed up to get the car at 1PM. Was refused to be given the car unless I purchased extra insurance at a cost of $25 a day. I refused to buy this extra protection because I had this coverage through my credit card with no deductible whatsoever for free. I was told to wait three hours and I would be able to get the car without paying for the extra insurance. I waited three hours and the same person who could not sell me the extra insurance this time tells me I have to have an international license. The employees are not honest and lie. I walk away and get a car from Budget for less. NEVER AGAIN. I also disputed the second charge as well.

Stay away from those pirates at GOLDCAR. Rented a vehicle on December 11, 2021. Purchased extra insurance MEGA RELAX for protection against breakdown. 50 Km in the trip all red lights on the display ..the car needed an oil change !!! Call them up .. if the car is driveable keep driving. Two days later the car breaks down on the highway. I almost caused a major accident. Ruined 2 days of a 4 days vacation. Forced to rent another car. Call them up, sent a complaint for a refund on my expenses ... After 3 weeks I was just offered a 20% discount on future rental !! STAY WAY FROM THESE PIRATES .... IT WAS CRIMINAL TO RENT A CAR WHICH NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE ... I AVOIDED A MAJOR ACCIDENT FOR PURE LUCK !! THE CAR HAD AN INSTANTANEOUS LOSS OF POWER WHILE ON HIGHWAY ... 4 PEOPLE ON BOARD ...worthless customer support on the phone ... called them multiple times ... they denied the very same coverage which they promised to offer on their own insurance !!!! Next I am calling my credit card ! STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE !!

Never ever again. Everything was payed with Check24 but Goldcar refused to give me a car without the extra payment of 270 Euros because 'of the young drivers age'. In the end it was an extra insurance which was never told to us during the discussion at the counter. Stay away from this company.

Probably the single worst company I had to deal with in my life, unbelievable poor service. I made two bookings with the them, enticed by the undeniably low price they offered. On the first time (three weeks in May 2021) I rent an Opel Corsa or similar (they call it class cc), and I was offered a Volkswagen Polo with automatic transmission, which I liked. However, after a couple of days the auto had some issues and I returned it - this time I was told there was no similar car, and I was downgraded to a Volkswagen Up. It is the first time I saw a downgrade following an issue of the previous car - but ok, I kept going with a worst car than I booked. The second time was much worst! I booked a car the following month (June 2021) for two weeks, to be taken on a Sunday at 16. I had an issue with my transfer to Rome, so I was a bit late.. I called the customer service, they told me the acceptance was closing at 18 (after I discovered it was a mistake and they were closing at 19 instead) and to call them later to an update on my delay. I called around 17, but the customer service was already closed (!!!) and since I was going to arrive at the airport after 18, I went directly home, thinking to take the car the following morning. However, at my arrival on Monday at 9:00, they told me that the car was gone, since I didn’t show up the day before, and I lost the full two weeks of booking. I told them of the disservice with the customer service, they told me to send an email to a certain email address, to which I never received a reply. The lesson for me, which I would like to share with you, is the following : don’t be fooled by the β€˜low prices’, there is always a reason for them! Stick with the more established companies instead.. it may be a bit more expensive, but you won’t probably be treated in such a ridiculous and unprofessional way!

Simple pick up and return for us. We live in Italy and I have a European driver's license so maybe that made it smoother and easier for us. The price of the rental was half what other companies were asking. The car was a close to new Seat Arona. Drove great, had GPS included and did well during our 3 weeks of driving.

I feel to write a positive review, as I see comments of piracy, which has not been definitely my case. Fast delivery at arrival and departure. The car, a VW Up, was clean and in good conditions at an extremely low price in the period of my rent. Tiziana (or Teresa, sorry I forgot) helped me nicely at car return with a fast check (5 min) and no problem to get the deposit back immediately. My impression is that some clients have no respect in the use of rented cars. I never had a single problem with renting companies after at least 15 years of experience and in various countries, but I care as if it were my car.

The most terrible rent a car you can imagine. Don't think that you will get for what you pay. You'll pay twice on the the desk otherwise never get the car. All ads are fake only for attracting the people. Actual rates extremely higher. Also desk clerks can shout on you if you reject to pay twice. They can throw passport to your face...unbelievable? but it's true.

I rented a Fiat 500 hybrid from them. When signing the documents, it said it’s full tank, luckily I took this photo and showed them when bringing back the car. Overall everything when great with this rental.
