Worst car rental experience ever - Paid for an Audi but only got a Volkswagen. - Was very surprised the Volkswagen had 8 areas with scratches and dents. - the document states that I took the car at 1608 but by the time I did all the extensive checks and drove out of Verona airport, it was already 1630. I bought the 3 hours extra because I know I may not be able to return at that time 8 days later. Dumb me I should have asked them to change the time to 1630 but I didn’t. - I returned the car at 1928 at Rome airport but the staff who was rude insisted they cannot give any grace despite a downgraded car that’s in bad condition and me buying the 3 hours extra. - So in the end I paid for the 3 hours extra and one extra day. - I emailed Locauto and got a prompt initial reply from the service staff. I explained the situation but I didn’t get any reply thereafter and it’s been more than a week. Doubt I will get any reply now. - Having rented cars in different countries (normally from Hertz or Avis) this is the worst experience ever. Rent at your own risk

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This is one of the most irritating and crazy contacts I have had with a COMPANY. I booked a car through Discovercars.com for 2 weeks. My flight got canceled due to strike and I called Locato to inform them that I will arrive one day later. Instead they told me that I have to call discovercars.com and asked them to call them to reschedule. I tried to contact discovercars.com but they did not answer. I called back to Locauto and said just keep my car for one day and I will Pic it up one day later, I don't want any money, the response was if you don't pickup your car today you have lost your reservation. This is soooooooo crazy.

My partner booked a specific model at this company online, because we wanted a small automatic car. We arrived and they gave us a huge Jeep. They do mention on their website that there is a possibility that one will not get the car displayed on the website, but a similar one. However, our car was VASTLY different from what we wanted.

I cannot stop praising the management and team at Locauto FCO for thΓ© outstanding service they have provided me in the past two years. I went from a complaining customer (12 years ago I decided to never use them again and by error I booked a car with them two years ago and what a pleasant change I experienced). I will admit I thought it was a one off so tested it several times since and it’s obviously the new standard and the human element (team) at the airport that have turned this experience around. I am indeed very happy with the whole experience - Price, Vehicle quality, Client relations contact and service. Well done! Now to complete the App to be just as good ?

They found hidden damages from the car to me. They also sent me a traffic fines from the previous car rental. They charged 48,80 for each traffic fine which are not made by me. It is criminal to give wrong information to police! Car petrol indicator was set to not show a full tank, even that I filled it full several times. They tried to charge me to fill the tank, even that it was full. Beware also for the petrol scam! They cheat money from customers!

Horrible company. The employee at check out agreed that the tire pressure indicator was on, but didn't mark it. At check in, they said it was my fault. I got an email saying they're charging me €250 for "new damages" after check-in but provided no evidence or explanation. This is blatant fraud. EDIT: I already contacted Customer Service and they insisted I pay the fee.

Hidden damage. On the second day after renting the car, powder stains appeared on the upholstery. The upholstery must have been damp when renting the car. We were charged a heavy cost for washing the upholstery. Even so many seats were stained and we traveled in two. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

Horrible horrible company, it's a big scam! Fraud, DO NOT rent your car with them. And DO NOT do after hour drop off. They will fabricate damages and force you to pay for "damages" without sending any proof!! Check the other reviews. Many others have had the same experience plus post-rental customer service is the worst. No direct phone call, just email. The responses are generic and looks like were generated by robots. When I checked out the car, the right rear side already had lots of scratches and damages, including the on the tire ring, which they marked on the check out paperwork. After I dropped off my car, after few hours, they immediately sent me a bill asking for $300 EURO tire repair. I asked for evidence, what they provide is a picture which showed the same damage that was already there. I also asked for the repair invoice, so I can file for benefits from my credit card but they provide nothing and threatened to send me to the debt collector. For future renters, if you want to rent from this company, take as many pictures and videos when you check out and return the car (but I don't know how helpful it will be, because they will fabricate anything even fake pictures!) Attached is the ONLY evidence they provide. What damage to the tire is there exactly?!
