After having bad luck with renting a car at another company (my own fault) I was helped out by a very friendly lady at the AVIS desk. She arranged for me and my family that we could hire a car (FIAT 500) which waas a giood start for our holiday in Italy (Rome area).

It was absolutely a wonderful experience at Avis In FCO airport. Jessica help tremendously fulfilling all my needs and wants. Im a very satisfy customer I will be definitely use Avis anytime I will be back to Rome. Thank you Avis. Thank you Jessica.

Attendant tried to upsell insurance and also the post-free 300 km mileage cost in the document they tried to have me sign was 3x greater than the number in the original reservation. This was all very sketchy so we ended up taking the train.

Rome airport rental pickup was slow & even for President circle status we were treated badly. The staff were not very helpful at all when they gave us a space wagon which is not what we booked and far too big for our drive. They made us go to different staff to change for car and yet none of them can help and simply asked us to speak to another staff again. The manager at avis office by the carpark was rude as well.

Molto buono servizio! Great Service! Definitely recommend it!!! Makes Rome awesome!! Update: they gave me a different model car from what they said I would get. Manual transmission stick is not the best design at all on this type of Fiat!

AT the time of booking I was quoted price at 2200 dollars, after I returned a car, no scratchers, no damages, with full insurance included, I received a statement, charged more then 5000 dollars!!!! Tried to call customer service, spend one hour on the phone and no answer, on the toll free numbers no answer as well. Then send email with scans of reservation quotation and actual chargers, received email answer, "we will investigate"!!!!!! Also I had reserved a car from USA site for Italy. In the answer I had received from AVIS service email, as a rental in Europe, they need to consult with agency in Europe. Will let you know all the answers will get in 15 days. :-(

Very polite and helpful staff. Very efficient as well we didn’t have to wait much and treated us like friends. Alessandro and Germana were such lovely staff. Would book again with Avis if they keep this type of staff professional and motivated. Im glad we spend a bit more and went for a proper car rental company.

My family and I rented a car from Avis in the Rome airport for 7 days last month. Picking up the car was fine, the care was nice and clean. Everything during the rental was great. When returning the car it was late and there was only one person from Avis in the secure Avis parking area who told us to leave the keys in the car. I looked over the car and took pictures everything was fine and in good condition when we returned the car. The next morning I got an email from Avis saying that the windshield was cracked and I would be charged for the damage. But I had my pictures. I immediately looked over my photos and saw that there was no damage to the vehicle when I left it in Avis parking lot, so I was not concerned. I had proof showing there was no damage, photos showed the license plate, the windshield (without damage) and the parking spot that I left the vehicle in and also the mileage on the odometer. I submitted a claim to Avis showing that I returned the car without any damage the same day I received the email from Avis saying there was damage. I did not hear anything back from them. Followed up with a phone call and they gave me a case number that they were working on it. But I never heard back. Another phone call and another case number. But nothing from Avis. Two days later my credit card was billed for the damage. I was shocked that even after showing proof in photos, with time, location, mileage, license plate number, that the vehicle was returned without damage, I was still charged the repair fee. There are security camera's in the parking area so Avis knows this car was returned without damage. Mistakes happen, but when you have proof that you returned the car without damage and the mistake is not corrected that is a problem. I am disappointed that Avis is not the company I thought they were. We chose Avis because of their reputation for honesty and integrity. Sadly we were mistaken. We are currently working with our credit card company to resolve this issue. I am hoping Avis will have a closer look at the evidence and do the right thing. But until they do I cannot give more than 1 star.
