DO NOT RENT A CAR WITH THIS COMPANY! We were to return the car in another office, but it was closed when we arrived (they told us it would be open!!). After several calls with different offices, Locauto's central office sent us to the Termini office. Therefore, we had to traverse Rome and were late for the return. WE HAD TO PAY 160 EUROS FOR ANOTHER FULL EXTRA DAY. Of course they will suggest down here that I contact them in order to solve this matter... I already did, and they didn't even bother to answer!!

NB: Car rental return is in a parking garage a few blocks down the road, on the 6th floor. Search for “ES Park Giolitti” garage. We rented from Locauto in Salerno to drive up to Tuscany after doing the Amalfi coast and returned the car to this location. Pickup was easy once we figured out where to return it and the staff were very friendly at both pickup and return. Technically we were 10 mins late to return due to extra time finding the garage, but they didn’t charge for an extra day as other reviews mentioned. Only room for improvement would be to have some automated message about where the car rental return location is when calling the phone number, so that my wife wouldn’t have had to go inside to the rental desk to ask.

Stay away. This company placed false damages on a vehicle I rented for just one day. I left it in the same exact condition. 70€ for a day rental, I got charged over 500€ for false damages. This company should get shut down.

STAY AWAY!. They ripped us off by charging for damages we didn't make. They didn't check the car at the time of check out and sent a request for payment of damages 3 days later. This is disgraceful. The owner of this business needs to review their business conduct as it is immoral to rip people off. As a customer we already supported your business by renting the car from you rather than someone else. We rented a one way rental car for 2 days from Venice to Rome and the total They charged on our credit card a total of 800 Euro (inclusive of 320 euro for rental charge). Because they had your credit card details they just withdrew money without your authorisation. Immoral business conduct and they should have no customers. Please do not ask me to create a case with customer support. My case number is Id cs 194009 VMS2030 if you really care about resolving my issues.

Stay away! We rented a car via Alamo and they share the service with Enterprise, National and Locauto. In the termini at the counter the staff was extremely rude. They didn’t have a car available at the time we had booked, we had to wait for half an hour. Staff told us to go someplace for coffee or something while waiting and didn’t care about us being in a hurry. Instead of apologies they were rude and complained about the amount of reservations they had to handle. Which is strange since there were no other customers. When we asked for directions to the garage she first asked if we hadn’t been there before and then reluctantly told us to walk 300 meters away to a black and white building. That was all. Luckily we had actually been there before but with a different company and found the building. Although there were no signs to Alamo anywhere outside, inside or in the elevator. A kind person working there gave us directions so we could find the car eventually. The garage was high up and so narrow the van driving in front of us had to reverse in every corner to manoeuvre through the passages. Reading other reviews makes me anxious about returning the car in a few days. It is unfortunate companies like Alamo allow this kind of service by their partners. Update 5 months later: A generic reply from the company with a link to customer support, in Italian 5 months after I wrote the review. Now I’m more sure than ever. This is definitely a car rental company that should be avoided!

The car and the returning of it was excellent. However when picking up the car, the lady at the counter was talking in italian about my wife, calling her a bit*h face. When I confronted her about it, she had the audacity to be mad at me for being fluent in italian. After that her colleague took over and she was super professional and very nice.

Charged with damage after returning. Locauto can’t even provide EVIDENCE of the damage. We checked and videoed the car before renting and before returning, there was no damages made by us at all. Don’t book with them. Lousy company. Just report to your cc company that it’s invalid/fraudulent transaction, don’t let them charge you at all. SCAMMERS.
