HORRIBLE. Reservation? Doesn't mean anything - Preferred Customer? It's a joke. 二度とAVISγ§γ―ε€Ÿγ‚Šγͺγ„γ¨ζ€γ‚γ›γ‚‹η΅Œι¨“γ‚’γ•γ›γ‚‰γ‚ŒγΎγ—γŸγ€‚ They took almost 3 hours to get our car ready when we had a reservation with a specific type of car and equipment more than a month ago. We had to wait at the registration desk at the Termini Station for 90 minutes to get served and the agent took forever to get my RESERVATION processed. Then, at the desk in the parking, we were told to wait outside the booth as our car wasn't ready yet and would be called as soon as it becomes available. Did they check and call us back in? OF COURSE NOT. We waited another 30 minutes there just to be called. Since nobody had no intention to serve our reservation, I went back to the booth and asked whether the car was ready. Of course it has been ready but the agents would not care to tell us so until I went back and asked. Things didn't stop there; when I opened up the GPS packet, the screen and the other part which connects the suction cup and the monitor didn't match. I had to bring them back to the booth and get them replaced - another 30 minutes was wasted. With this huge delay, they completely ruined our entire day-trip and my aging mother's life-long dream to go visit Pompei had to be extremely shortened because of their unacceptable professionalism. Did we fly to Rome by taking 13-hour flight to get this kind of treatment? This wasn't just us but I saw their Preferred-status Customer who was able to skip the Termini Station registration desk but was made to wait as much as we did at the booth at the parking structure. There was no car? Of course there was. There were floor full of cars just sitting yet all the customers were told "nothing is available". I would NEVER EVER use or recommend AVIS for personal, business or whatever the reason. I would reviewed with a zero star or even negative star if there were such option.

The service was very slow and we lost around 40 minutes for signing a contract. Initially we booked a car with automatic transmission in beforehand, but on the desk were told this car is not available, and we have to take larger one. It was very inconvenient for us, but we agreed. During the pickup we found out the smaller car we need is actually on a parking!!! Even two cars of this type. After losing 1 hour more we got the car. During the return the crew tried to charge us extra around 300 euro for nothing!!! After loosing one more hour they confirmed that was a error in their system. In the end we got everything we payed for, but lost some hours in waiting and negotiations, as the company was trying to cheat us.

We booked a car with Avis as part of our British Airways reservation; feeling pleased with ourselves for finding an Avis location round the corner from our hotel, we were subsequently dismayed to read the reviews! However our experience was thankfully nothing like that described by other reviewers; we arrived the station at 11am on Saturday morning. It was busy where all the car hire desks are situated but having read from reviews you need to take a ticket we scouted out the ticket machine which advised us there were only 3 people ahead of us. We were called within 5 minutes. Simone the Avis rep was helpful, efficient, friendly and exuberant! We were offered the usual upgrades and extra insurance but there was no hard sell and we were done within 10 minutes. Car collection is 300 yards down the same road in a multi-storey car part and straightforward. All in all, one of the better car hire experiences we've had so no complaints. We can only assume this particular branch has listened to its feedback and made significant improvements. Would recommend.

BEWARE OF DECEITFUL PRACTICE! The male representative (with dark hair) at the Avis Rome Termini counter who assisted me in the afternoon of Oct 11th 2021 played a dirty trick. When showing me the rental agreement, he ONLY mentioned that I would have the option to purchase gas if not returning with a full tank, and my credit card was ONLY taken for deposit. He did NOT mention a word about adding supplemental insurance coverage to the contract. He only highlighted the fuel services but NOT the "complete protection package" when showing us the rental agreement on the screen (as seen in the picture). What a shock to learn that I would be charged close to 180 euro upon return in Florence airport! When I booked via Auto Europe, I specifically chose the minimum coverage knowing that I would not need supplemental coverage given my credit card benefits. Since that trip, it's been a futile 2 months trying to solicit a resolution with Avis UK/Europe customer service over emails. They kept giving an apathetic response saying that I "had the benefit of this coverage during the course of my rental" when I did NOT know there was such coverage! As a Avis preferred client since 2017 who had taken out dozens of rental cars in the US, this is the first time I encountered such an unprofessional and dishonest practice.

TERRIBLE! Gave us a defective car, and when reported, no one cared. RESULT? Our tire deflated, and THEN they charged us for it! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE AND PRODUCT. their cars are old, their staff could not care less!

Cheaters! They didn't indicate the real scratches of the car in the agreement and then charged you for them! If you try to contact the Customer Service, you will waste your time. No willingness to solve the customer's problems, only auto replies. Very poor Customer Service, very unprofessional ways of doing business. STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED!

Was concerned when I read several of the online reviews, but I had a terrific rental experience. The agent at the Rome train station (Termini Roma) was not the friendliest, but she was efficient. I only had to wait 10 minutes with one customer ahead of me. As noted by other reviewers, there is a bit of a walk to get to the car, but manageable. The person at the garage was very friendly and helpful, as we needed an infant car seat. I was surprised at the size and features of the car. Newish car with low miles. Had zero problems or issues with the 2-week rental. Return process was seamless and quick. Essentially just handed the keys to the rep at the garage. Overall, a very positive experience with no complaints.

Terrible experience!! I should have read reviews on here but I booked with Expedia. We only needed the car for 1 day. Price was great, car options good, and friendly staff. I thought all was great we had nothing to worry about. We’ve rented cars all over the world and have never not once had an issue until renting with this budget/Avis. We brought the car back the same day, 10 hours later. Parked it and dropped the keys in the drop box. Easy enough. A few days go by and I check my credit card statement and I see that we are charged hundreds more. I never got an invoice so I call this local office we rented from and had them email it to me. Once I got it I read over it and saw we were changed for damage on a white vehicle we didn’t even have a white vehicle so I call back and they can’t help me they said someone from the accident department will call me. It’s been a month and nothing not even an email. I should have taken photos now I have no proof we didn’t have a white car and we didn’t damage the car we had, this is now a lesson learned for us. Hoping my review helps others stay away. This rental car office are scammers. It’s not much they keep it low to get away with it.
