β β β β β Pretty smooth pick up service, and lovely, lovely lady helping me out. HOWEVER. I would never ever rent from them without a full insurance. They made me sign all docs at the terminal when the car was a 10 minute walk away. Turns out the 'no damages car' had quite a few scratches already. So beware. Will update at the end of rental...nothing happened, and returned pretty smoothly. I guess the classic rule of be smart, get insurance applies.

β β β β β Long waiting time to pick up the car (it's better to fill your data online before to speed up the process) , but there were no problems at all with returning the car. However we did not receive the car radio password and we couldn'd retrieve it from the company, even though we asked several times.

β β β β β Very poor service. Long queues, waited for over an hour before being helped, unfriendly staff. Took 15min to sign all documents (very bureaucractic).
Three months after holidays we got a message from this company we had to pay a fine by the police which we already paid to the local authorities the same day we got the fine. The rental company charged us β¬32 of administration costs +the fine. After disputing this and sending proof, the rental company replied they eventually will not charge the costs themselves but the authorities will send us the fine by post + β¬50 of administration costs.
Now we are stunned the rental company did charge us for the fine.
In the end it means we paid 3 times this parking fine. Meaning it will cost us over β¬170 instead of β¬29.
TRULLY CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR!!!!!!!!

β β β β β Not recommended. Parking is far away from the airport.
We wanted to rent a car 30 min before hour we checked on the website. It wasn't possible... Rude guy (employee) didn't want to help us find a car which wasn't on correct place (which was on the documents).
During the returning process other employee said the car is too dirty and they will charge extra 50euro (we rented for 8 days and you can see it's not brand new but not very dirty).
When we get the tickets they charge us extra!!!
"we will charge your credit card for the amount of β¬50.00 + 22% VAT as additional service for the handling of the file"
the worst experience with a car rental in my life!

β β β β β We booked a car through the website. When we went to pick it up in the evening of the 2nd of October there were 2 huge lines of people waiting. There was obviously not enough staff to deal with this. Unfortunately the personnel was quite rude. Reading other reviews it becomes clear that this is not an exception but a regular occurrence. After one hour if waiting (although we were one of the first in the queue) they gave us the wrong keys, so we still had to spend some time figuring this out. All of this could be forgotten, because there were no issues with the car during our trip. Until months after... During the trip we received a small traffic fine which we immediately paid to the police of Massafra. When returning the car there was no mention of this, so we thought everything was okay. Three months later we got the message that the police sent the fine to Sicily By Car, and the amount of the fine plus some extra costs were blocked on our credit card. We sent them PROOF that we already paid the fine but they don't want to hear about is and keep bothering us. It's unclear who the real scammers are, the police or Sicily By Car, but either way it is handled very unprofessionally, so I would recommend everyone to rent a car elsewhere!

β β β β β I would not recommend Sicily by car rental to anyone. I have rented cars here before, but this time in Bari it was terrible. It started from the fact that the lady who served me requested a credit card, not a debit card (which I actually used to pay for the rental online). I had two choices: cancel the reservation or pay a total of 455 euros (additional 155 euros for the debit card guarantee and 300 euros as a deposit). I decided to pay the scam because I had no choice. When returning the car to the parking spot, the gentleman from the company said that it was enough to leave the car without checking it, so I went to the terminal where I was supposed to leave the keys. That is what I did. While waiting for the flight, I got an email, with a sentence marked in red on the car handover report: "Customer did not wait for the car to be inspected. For this reason, any repair of any fault or defect found will be automatically charged to the payment card." You are scammers. Nothing more.

β β β β β During the commercial conversation, the lady at the desk was friendly and helpful
Although we made the reservation of that car upfront, even encoded the credit card, she asked for the credit card and I had to sign 4 documents electronically. She proposed an additional insurance of 25 euro per day, which may be convenient but unnecessary.
At the end, she sent all the documents to my email address.
I asked for a paper version of the document where the damage of the car was noted on. Although she had 3 office printers available, she refused twice!
When picking up the car, I asked for it again. The guy had 1 office printer available, but as a professional employee of Sicily by Car, he refused.
If I can avoid this company in the future, I certainly will!

β β β β β Great service! Opened with no delay at 8 in the morning. Very fast and polite service. EV for little extra cost, but no fuel needed later. Card for free charging if needed was provided by SBC also. Renault Zoe with real range of 250km. Thanks a lot!
