I was supposed to get the car at 15 o’clock but I landed at 12 o’clock and I said why not go and ask if they could give me the car earlier, since their parking lot was full of rentals. They didn’t, only if I paid 40€ extra, which I didn’t want to. The guy at the counter tried to sell me insurance (109€) and he said if I paid insurance I could take the car at 12 o’clock . They say if you don’t have insurance and you scratch, damage the car , it can cost you between 300 and 600 €. They had a list anyway of how much they would have charged you for damages. Ridiculous prices! When I refused because the rental costed me 150€ for 4 days , he then asked me β€˜β€™ realllllly, your rather wait 3 hours to get the car then pay the 109 euro?’’. I politely said yes. At 15 o’clock I went back , got the car. Of course it was all scratched. I had to go alone and do the inspection. 4 days later , upon arrival to return the rental back , the girl from the office first asked me if I had paid insurance, saying no , she began to thoroughly inspect the car for scratches or damages . This went fine , but all in all the whole experience with this company was not good and unfortunately it was not the first time either .

We returned the car in PERFECT condition at 3:53 Friday 7. We hope not to see any charges in our credit card.

DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE! The staff is not very helpful at all. They were not even able to change the drivers name of our booking, but cancelled it on us. Also tried to upsell us insurance in a very rude manner.

Longest queue ever, only one employee to give the cars, incredible, worst service ever. 1.5h flight to get to Bari, 2h to get a car!!!! Never again

we had to wait over an hour to collect the car as there was only one person working at the desk and there was a queue of 6 other customers in front of us - with each customer taking 10 minutes to process. Also, all four tyres were very under-inflated which caused a warning light to come on whilst on the auto-strada. Otherwise all good!

Don't ever use Gold car services!!! We were wating in front of their office situated like 1km and more from Bari airport for like more than 2 hours to take the car! This is an absurd! Unfortunately we had already paid a bunch of money so we had to wait and spend our vacation time on the smelly street. Ridiculous service!

Taking out the Platinum cover did not give us the peace of mind we hoped for. When picking up the car we were strongly advised, with threatening sales pitch, to take out further cover (almost doubling the cost of the entire rental fee) or risk paying €1400 in the case of damage and €2500 in the case of theft. We were prepared for this by reading other people's reviews, and did not succumb to this pressure. This was not a good start to our holiday. In the end we returned the car intact. Goldcar blocked €950 euros when we rented the car and took 3 weeks to unblock it. To add insult to injury Goldcar, and the booking agency DoYouItaly, are impossible to contact if you have an issue. The staff at Bari Airport were very professional but they are made to implement a terrible company policy. Never again!

Scammers! Unfortunately we did not read reviews here! Found them to be cheapest on doyouitaly.com and paid for online voucher. When we came to collect the car, they wanted a credit card IN THE NAME of the driver! We asked for us to add the owner of the credit card to the booking but they said they couldn't! And they did not refund us the €200! 3 others were all in the same situation - all fighting at the staff who do not have a conscience. (Seen in the pictures) If that is not disgusting enough, they are all trained to scare you into buying their own insurance and as the insurance purchased from their own 3rd party PARTNERS is not good enough! Terrible start to our holiday in Apulia. If you go for them, do not get scammed into paying for their insurance.
