★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Latomia Del Paradiso are the remains of the huge limestone quarries that were dug out to build a large number of the buildings in the city. You can visit the gardens on the way to Teatro Greco and on a hot summers day I'd much prefer to spend a few hours here sitting and relaxing under the shade of a tree. They could certainly improve the area with better signage and open up several of the paths they have closed. You can get access to Orecchio di Dionisio - Ear of Dionysius via the garden paths.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful scenery, make sure though you don't go when it's super warm. There is barely any wind going through, so you might "cook" yourself slowly

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An amazing quarry now a sort of wild garden you can walk round while visiting the archeological site. Well worth the extra time and effort to descend down and just wander through. Cool and refreshing after the heat above.
