★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited this lovely church to see the glorious Caravaggio painting of The Burial of Santa Lucia. I didn't know about the small octagonal shrine marking the original tomb, and the magnificent sculpture by Tedeschi until I saw them, but the whole complex is well worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the proper place to see Caravaggio (don't confuse it with the St. Lucia church in the city center). The entrance is for free but you should check opening hours during the week. The Caravaggio's pairing in itself is truly majestic. However, it should be viewed from a close range, standing to the left or right. The picture is not properly lighted, so standing in front won't provide you with great view. The is old Caravaggio, dark, musty, naturalistic. Utterly beautiful.
