***DO NOT RENT FROM HERE*** ***THEY WILL LIE ABOUT TAKING A "DEPOSIT" BUT IT WILL END UP BEING A CHARGE*** I booked my rental on Expedia for $112 CAD and when I arrived they said they would charge me for my booking + pre-authorize my card for a deposit totalling $227 CAD. When I returned the vehicle and asked for my deposit back, they said it would be automatic and could take between 7-14 business days...THAT NEVER HAPPENED!! I disputed the charges with Expedia, Budget and my credit card company and in the end I got screwed because at the end of the day I agreed to providing them a so-called deposit... I got screwed because I was mislead by the agents at the desk. They know that tourist will come and go and by the time the tourists realize that the "deposit" was actually a charge, they would have moved on to other places....and so there is not consequence to them...this is wrong, do not fall for it like I did!

Although we had reserved and paid everything beforehand, we had to wait for more than 90 minutes in line before we could get service from employees at the Budget office. And when we finally got a customer service guy to talk with, we had to about 15 minutes going thru unnecessary things that we had already cleared when doing the reservation online and the worst part was very aggressive sales talk for upgrading the car, getting extra insurances, scaring about the police etc. Very rude and arrogant service. When I eventually said that "Please, we don't want anything else than the car that we had reserved and as soon as possible, since we'd been waiting for it already for 90 minutes with our 5 years old son", the guy just snapped: "it's not my fault!", so no apologies for the long wait, which would have been the least he could have said. Then it took another hour to actually get a working car, (first one had a motor issue) but luckily the employees at the actual garage (which is about 6 minutes walk from the office) were nice and spoke much better english that the guy at their office. That's the only reason for the second star: they did their best without the attitude. Still it was the worst car rental experience I've had so far.

I have had the WORST experience with budget. we always usually use them when we are travelling but NEVER again!!!! we pre booked a rental it was a great rate 60EUR for 4 days. The pick up was 9am today we had to wait almost 2 hours to see someone!!!! When we finally spoke to someone they would not accept our international driver's license because it showed less than a year we tried to explain that when our drivers licence was transferred when we moved to Canada they took our old licences way. We had a copy of the old one, which they would not accept because there was a gap in the licence. Luckily we had kept our old Canadian licence but had to go all the way home as they would not accept it. We get back and by this time its 12pm (half a day wasted) and they tell us we don't have insurance I had read very carefully the terms and knew we were covered. I said I thought we were covered the woman didn't say thing asked us to sign a contract and pay a pre authorized amount. When we went to pick up the car we asked the guy to explain (as his English was better) he told us we had been charged an additional 20EUR per day for super coverage 10EUR day for windshield protection. We explained that we didn't ask for that he tried to call but they said we signed and there was nothing we could do even though we hadn't taken the car. Then they bring us the car we asked for a Ford fiesta something small and quick. We get bought a fiat cubo its horrible and big - not what we booked!!! what is there to do though but get on the road it's almost 1pm and we have wasted the whole day :( never using budget again, it's a shame they were so good before

The most horrible experience I have ever had in my entire life. Words cannot express how badly they treated me. Guys this place is a scam and the people there want to rub you that’s it. Read the reviews on google and trust them. There is a reason why everyone gave 1 star to this place. If I could gave 0 I would have done that! The woman sitting there was not even wearing a name tag so I don’t even know to whom I spoke! Maybe she knew she is doing something fraudulent that she was not wearing a name tag! I asked for her name and she didn’t say ! They didn’t give me there car I payed in advanced, saying that I should have my passport with me and that is indicated in my reservation email. It’s was not indicated and when I asked the woman working there show me where this is stated she said call budget! Well I was in budget ! Why should I call budget !? She didn’t give me the car , she didn’t show me where In the email this was stated. I am a frequent traveler I traveled in many countries and I rent a car almost everywhere. My driver license and international diver license and credit card suffice to rent a car.No one ever asked me a passport not in Italy nor any where else. In the same time that I was in the shop, the same nameless staff was trying to give a cheaper car to another customer while she paid for a specific category of car. Don’t go to this place. It’s horrible.

Do not get a car here, and if you do - double check everything very carefully! I reserved a P category vehicle (“VW Tiguan or similar”), and when I came to pick up the car, the agent told me (after a 30+ minute wait), that I would be receiving a DS3 Crossback, which was “the only P category vehicle we have left”. She also offered me to upgrade to an Audi Q3, “for only €15 a day+VAT”, an offer I declined. I asked her again whether the DS3 was a P category car and she insisted it was, and quickly rushed through the rental documents as there was a big line of people waiting. We went to the pick up location (which is about a 10 min walk) and realized the car was on the smaller size, but we were already late and had to hit the road, so we didn’t think much of it (they did offer to show us a few more cars but all were the same size and were quite small for all the luggage we had, so we stayed with the DS3, reluctantly). After a couple of days of watching VW Tiguans passing by and realizing how much larger these were, I went online only to realize that the DS3 was actually a lower category (I), and that I had been tricked! I then took another look at the rental contract the agent had given us and I only then realized that indeed, it said it was an “I category vehicle”. I was shocked. Not only did the agent lie to us when she insisted it was a P category vehicle, but she also tried to trick us into paying more for an upgrade (that in any other agency would have been give to us for free, as they didn’t have the category we had reserved). I am still trying to get someone from Budget to assist in this debacle, but to anyone reading this - CHECK EVERYTHING VERY CAREFULLY AND DON’T BELIEVE A WORD SPOKEN IN THIS AGENCY!

Rented a car in Milan, the car was super, no problem, but the service was really bad. First of all we waited about 45 minutes in a queue in order to get our car, which was already booked and paid via website. Ok, then they sold as a road assistance. Why was not to possible to add road assistance option while we were booking the car on the website? Then we paid for a full tank of a gas and told that when we bring our car back, the difference will be calculated according to the amount of remaining gas in the tank, so it was like a deposit. Ok, so after a few days of using the car, we returned it and they tried to charge a rent payment for the car, although it was paid when we booked it! Had to show them our rental agreement with payment confirmation. Ok, it was solved then, but when we tried to get some part of our money back, because we returned it with some amount of gas in the tank, and they told that they pay deposit back only with a full tank! Nobody told us before about that, so we did not get our deposit back, they just took our money. Should have returned the car with empty tank then. Worst experience ever!

Feared the worst after reading the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. They were really helpful in changing my return destination from the railway station to the airport.

Run away!!! Worst service ever. Had a problem with the car and had to wait over 6 hours to reach someone on the phone! After waiting almost all day to reach them, it was sorted, then another problem happened the next day as the car had not been checked carefully. I had to wait several hours again to get the problem fixed. When giving back the car I let them know about that bad experience and the person who picked the car told me the customer support will call me to give apologies and a compensation. It's been over a month, no news at all. This company is a scam and should not be allowed to operate!
