★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great service! My booking through an airline was stuffed up. The staff at Maggiore were more than helpful to find another car - exactly to my preferred options. The booking and returning were made easy. We even left our bags in the Maggiore office for a few hours until our next train journey. Five star for staff, location, shop, car.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The process to obtain the car in the agency has to be done by phone with Maggiore call center. It takes about 45 minutes. Don’t rent a car with Maggiore.
Go with Avis or Budget.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This car company is the worst! Be warned. We walked in and they didn't even acknowledge our presence for at least 10 minutes. Nobody smiled. Their English was sketchy too.
They were rude, didn't explain things properly at all, and when we got in the car, we noticed that the tank was only 7/8 full. We took a photo of it and my friend went straight back in there before we drove off to show them the photo and demand they make a note of it on our file.
The car was a Peugeot with terrible back suspension and almost bald front tyres. It would hit a pot hole and skip across the road!
We returned it at 7/8 full and showed them the photo again to make sure they knew what had happened.
I will never use them again. Awful customer service and downright dangerous car.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Felt obliged to give this hire company a review as reading all negative reviews made me a tad worried when picking up the vehicle. Got a perfectly working new car, no bumps or marks with a full tank. Had a slight issue as I was the Booker and driver but we used my friends credit card. This was sorted by the lady on the front desk. Returned the car to pisa airport and had no issues. If the credit charge gets charged more then expected then I'm sure I'll change the review but was happy with the service I received.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! ?????? A terrible experience. Not even worth 1 star. Rude staff and a rip off. Check the time that they give you the car keys - it will be different to what is on the contract they print out and then when you return the car they will claim you were late and try to charge you for an extra day. We booked an automatic Audi/BMW as it is our honeymoon. We were given a “more comfortable” car, a Fiat 500L Diesel, on arrival. This car has THE WORST transmission. We hated every minute of driving it. No mention to avoid the ZTL (limited traffic zone) nearby on drop off .... and that’s because the authorities pay them 30-40 Euros to provide customer details to issue the fine (lots on google about this). Can’t find a single good thing to say.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very handy location (one of very few!). Some of the reviews seem a bit grumpy - have you not hired a car in Italy before? This is about normal ;) Customer service and efficiency is not what they're known for, but were friendly enough and these guys did have my car as booked! I'd use again.
