Reserved a Class E car (Class F being the top of their range) because it said capable of taking 3 cases, and got a Fiat 500 Lounge! No Way was this big enough for 3 cases and had to put one on back seat. Ridiculous. And of course they claimed they didn't have anything bigger. Sp much for a multi national company. We'll be using a local company next time who appreciates the business.

The worst experience i have ever had. The staff are really rude and aggressive, if you speak Italian you will get your car so fast. I got my car 1.5 hours later than the pick-up time. All the 3 employees (1 man Claudio, and 2 women forgot their names) who were working there at the desk yesterday the 24th of August 2020 are rude. Avis as a big rental company, you should teach your employees how to deal with the customers and be at least 10% friendly because we are paying money for renting the cars, we are not getting them for free. Because of yesterday’s experience with Avis, now i don’t even have the good mood for the whole city anymore and don’t find my holiday interesting here anymore.

Vehicle delivered 2 hours later than pick up time, assured us that we could return it by 1PM the following day due to delay (originally booked return it 11PM the same day), which we complied with. Subsequently deducted money from our account on two separate occasions, the latest being three months after the rental period, with no warning or initial explanation given. Six weeks after I sent an enquiry email (they said they would respond within 10-15 working days), they explained that the first deduction was apparently due to a "late return" despite assurances that we could return it the following day. I have not had any explanation for the second payment. Do not hire from this company.

I would not even give this company a star if it was possible. I had presented at the desk a print out which clearly stated I had purchased FULL car insurance and the lady at the desk even confirmed this. There was no talk of me purchasing additional insurance and to mention why would they as I had full insurance. They added full insurance to the end bill. The didnt explain the charges and as the charge was very similar to the amount I had already paid I assumed she was simply highlighting the amount I had already paid. This extra charge was MORE than the original car hire and full insurance charged together. I have tried to dispute this and clearly as it was signed they do not want to waiver it, even though its clear I was misinformed. DAY LIGHT ROBBERY. Avis needs to question the integrity of their staff as this women intentionally applied this charge knowing I did not need it and clearly double charged me. I have never written a compliant like this before. Please do not book your car hire with this company.

There was a fairly long line (almost a full hour) until we reached the desk. Afterwards service was nice, we got an upgrade at a reduced price and pick up was easy. The car had a big scratch which wasn't documented, it was easy to add so. Unfortunately we had another big one by the time we returned which we had to pay for, but the procedure was fair and as stated in the terms.

If you pay, everything is ok. They didn’t have the car we booked but they upgraded to an other one, that’s cool however the power of the new car, even if it was a better one, was lower and Sicily requires at least 125CV. When picking it up they requested my physical credit card, the one I made the reservation with, I had it virtually for contact less they denied it without trying if it worked. We had other 3 credit cards with us but obviously they weren’t the one used for online booking and they “ couldn’t used them”, at the end they offered to pay an additional 210€ to change reservation details adding a second driver whose name linked with the credit card. They also tried to charged an additional all in insurance telling us we were not secured, we called our booking company and they confirmed we were fully insured, in any case they threatened us stating that every scratch would cost 1.000€!! Under such desperation we agreed to everything in order to pick up the car. Good point, when returning it, the staff were very friendly and they reviewed the car easily without problems. Be ready for paying extra over extra!!

We returned our car 80% full. Nevertheless we were told that we have to pay our full deposit of nearly 80 EUR. After a discussion with the lady on site she was prepared to reduce the amout of the deposit by 30%. Several weeks later we were charged the full deposit price. Watch out! There is no gas station at the airport. The closest one is about 10-15 minutes away with incredibly high prices. Very poor...

As a preferred customer I had a car and contract already prepared/. I got a free upgrade and car was really good for the price. Serveice was quick. What could be improved is the openning hours on google as I was not sure whether office is opened on sunday or not. Especially that when you call auto message says it is not opened.
