Era il mastio del castello (XIII secolo), l’opera più forte e sicura di tutto il sistema di difesa e come ultimo rifugio. Al castello era collegata da una passerella, a 7 metri dalla base, dove oggi si trova la porta d’ingresso per salirvi. Restaurata nel 2003 nell’interno e all'esterno, offre l’occasione di salirvi in cima per ammirare un panorama straordinario ed unico che va dalle Langhe fino al Mar Ligure. The castle was connected by a footbridge, 7 meters from the base, where today there is the entrance door to climb up. Restored in 2003 inside and outside, it offers the opportunity to climb to the top to admire an extraordinary and unique panorama that goes from the Langhe to the Ligurian Sea.

Dall'esterno si presenta in buono stato di conservazione con una scala metallica che sale sono all'entrata di accesso alla torre. Non essendo né un esperto, né uno studioso, non sono in grado di apprezzare l'edificio ma apprezzo in pieno lo stupendo panorama sull'alta Langa e sul paese di Murazzano che si può godere dalla scala della torre. I don't know if the tower can be visited from the inside. From the outside it is in good condition with a metal staircase that goes up to the entrance to the tower. Being neither an expert nor a scholar, I am not able to appreciate the building but I fully appreciate the stupendous panorama over the high Langa and the town of Murazzano that can be enjoyed from the staircase of the tower.

Eretta nei primi decenni del XIII secolo, è tutto ciò che resta del castello fortificato. Passata al comune di Murazzano e restaurata, ora è accessibile al pubblico. The historic building stands in an elevated position, in a pleasant public green space, offering a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. Un po' fuori dai soliti circuiti turistici vale la pena di essere visitato, per assaggiare la famola toma e l'ottimo vino. Thanks to a wonderful day, the village of Murazzano was a pleasant rediscovery. A little off the beaten track, it is worth a visit to taste the famola toma and the excellent wine.
