★ ★ ★ ★ ★ E' una delle 4 porte che erano poste lungo le mura di Merano. Ne restano 3 e questa è forse la più importante poichè ai lati è ancora visibile un breve tratto di quella che fu un tempo la cinta muraria, eretta intorno alla fine del XII secolo. Da qui è possibile proseguire per la passeggiata Tappeiner e la Polveriera o per i bei giardini della Passeggiata d'inverno e la Passeggiata d'estate.
It is one of the 4 gates that were placed along the walls of Merano. There are 3 left and this is perhaps the most important as a short stretch of what was once the city walls, erected around the end of the 12th century, is still visible on the sides. From here it is possible to continue for the Tappeiner promenade and the Polveriera or for the beautiful gardens of the Winter Walk and the Summer Walk.

Risale al XIII secolo e si apriva verso la val Passiria, molto utilizzata dai mercanti che arrivavano dall'Austria ( stupenda l'attuale passeggiata lungo il torrente Passirio).
È ancora collegata ad un tratto di antiche mura, in direzione della torre polveriera.
It was one of the four ancient entrances to the city.
It dates back to the 13th century and opened towards the Val Passiria, widely used by merchants who came from Austria (the current promenade along the Passirio stream is wonderful).
It is still connected to a stretch of ancient walls, in the direction of the powder tower.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La porta Passiria controllava la strada che dal Passo Giovo conduceva a Merano. È costituita da un portale a sesto acuto sovrastata da tre piani con un tetto a sbalzo. Sul lato verso la città è presente un affresco con lo stemma di Merano. Era collegata direttamente alla sovrastante torre Polveriera con delle mura ancora in parte visibili.
The Passiria gate controlled the road that led from Passo Giovo to Merano. It consists of a pointed arched portal surmounted by three floors with a cantilevered roof. On the side facing the city there is a fresco with the Merano coat of arms. It was connected directly to the towering Polveriera tower with walls that are still partly visible.
