Fantastic and knowledgeable owner, friendly staff, great and fresh seafood (even though it was winter time, off-peak), very good local wine and the best bread I tried in Sicily. I went there twice and second time the food was even better.

We have eaten at two Michelin rated restaurants here in Siracusa and this place is head and shoulders ahead of both for the seafood freshness and care in preparation. House wine (white) was also great.

When I've been there, I was hosted by friend, and I can't say anything about its prices, but food, wines and service were excellent. We satrted with some raw fish and other typical deliciosu starters from the sicilian cooking, to end up with some delicious handmade tagliolini with sea urchin and red mullet souce that I can still dream about. The owner is a man you could spend hours with, just to listen of his stories and of his passion for food.

Excellent food, wine & service. The swordfish carpaccio was *outstanding*. When I ordered a dish with sea urchin and informed the owner it would be my first time trying it, the owner, wanting to make sure I’d like it before I ordered it, ran back inside and brought me a sample on crostini; delicious, by the way; as he said, “it tastes like the sea”!

This is unfortunately why I cannot trust even google reviews now. This restaurant was by far the best food experience we had on the trip, and yet at 4.3 (Aug 2021) was found near the bottom of the recommended restaurants in Syracuse. On Ortigia there are dozens of restaurants that are listed at 4.7 and above, yet after eating at several of them, none even came close to Porticciolo. The sea food platter was an amazing assortment of raw and fried sea food that was unparalleled during our week in Sicily. The Sea Urchin pasta was simply heavenly, with the sauce showing so much respect for the ingredients and no element overpowering another. Finally the Sea Bass baked in salt was hands down the best fish of the trip. So tender, moist and flakey, we dug every ounce of meat out of it before sending it off. Cannot recommend this place enough, do not miss this restaurant if you're in Syracuse!

Prawns marinated with sea urchins and The grandma's ricotta cake stood up as dream food. Everything else was really good. Great choice of wines too including the best and oldest sweet wine in the world. Highly recommended
