Absolute worst company- they blamed us for made up damage that didn’t exist on the car when we returned it. But because we had already left the country and couldn’t come back in person they charges us €300 euros. They wouldn’t send us pictures of the damages they accused us of and we know for a fact we didn’t cause any damages. We should have taken pictures of it when we dropped it off although with how frustrating they are to work with they probably wouldn’t have even looked at them. They took advantage of us and scammed us since we are foreigners.

Probably the worst car hire firm I have ever used. I thought the days of dodgy car hire companies have gone - Obviously not. My advice to anyone DO NOT USE. Impossible to contact, hidden charges, late repayment of deposits plus take out Additianl funds not authorised. No option to speak to Someone. Useless website and chat faculty. I feel like I have been robbed!!!!!!!!!

I rented a car from Locauto back in April 2018. They endorsed 100 euros towards the damage deposit and never refunded this amount. I called several times and each time, they guided me towards their website to send messages through their portal that no one reply to. 3 months later, I am still chasing them for the refund and they still send me to their website portal to send another email dispute.Their service is horrible and no one can assist you after a rental. Highly do not recommend their services at all!

Great experience and would definite use again. I was a bit edgy to start with reading the negative reviews on google. However, for me it proved a smooth experience, no useless paperwork (almost everything was recorded as pdfs) and with very polite and helping personnel (Fabrizio and Sandro), the only minor snag was the 1.0l car which was a bit difficult in the mountains, but this is what you get these days at every car-rental companies anyway. Thank you and see you next time

Worst car rental experience! Avoid them unless you enjoy terrible customer service. I have used Alamo many times in the past (mostly in the U.S.) and have generally been satisfied, but sadly Locauto ruins the Alamo reputation. They rented me an Audi Q2 that looked good, but shortly after leaving the lot, the "check oil light" came on. I called their roadside assistance and local offices as I was already 1 hour away on my road trip. One of their employees said they will email me a name of a local garage in their network to resolve the oil problem (as I was on a road trip around Italy). That email never came. This made for a very frustrating weekend trip-- I was always worried that there was a possibility for a serious disruption to my trip. When I returned the car to Turin with a full tank, I explained the scary and uncomfortable experience to the employee who checked me out. I asked to speak with the manager about the problem and the employee told me the manager was on vacation. The employee told me that he was sorry to hear of this and that he will submit a ticket of complaint internally and that Alamo would not charge me any money until the problem was addressed and discussed with me (only the 500 euro deposit would be returned). Well, two days later I see that I was charged the full amount with the 500 euro deposit back in my account while the situation was never resolved. Since then, I tried over 5 attempts to speak with the manager at this location and they keep brushing me off and not returning my calls. I wrote an email to the customer service and their response was basically it is up to the customer to perform quality control, not the company!! And that I should be satisfied that they didn't charge me for the oil light!!!" Blaming the customer for everything-- what company does this?!? They also wrote: "Renter shall ensure the ordinary maintenance of the vehicle, by greasing it and adjusting the level of all lubricants, brakes fluid and tyres pressure." Well, in the same General Rental Conditions art 1. it states that "Locauto Rent (hereinafter called “Lessor”) shall consign to the lessee (hereinafter called “Renter”) the vehicle specified on the frontispiece of this rental agreement in good conditions." Having a check oil light illuminate shortly after renting the car and not helping me resolve it at a local garage is NOT in good condition! They clearly do not value their customers so I will take my business elsewhere. Alamo and Locauto just lost a long-term customer (along with our friends and family).

So my luck of a short 2-3 year assignment in Italy happening around the same time as a pandemic was not the best, however renting from the team at Locauto has been very fortunate for me. Barbara, Federico, Fabrice, and everyone has really been so very pleasant to work together with and have been very flexible when it comes to renewing contracts, extending contracts, and adapting to my changing schedule (changing airports included) throughout this pandemic. I thought this was the dream team at Caselle, but I must also acknowledge great customer service with Locauto at Roma central train station and Malpensa. I look forward to continuing our car relationship, as I will be picking up another rental. Thanks for making it a really great experience!

My wife and I also had the most unsatisfactory experience which almost ruined our family Italian holiday. We booked a car through Auto Europe but when we arrived we realised that my wife brought her old license (online evidence of renewed license wasn’t adequate, fair enough). Auto Europe changed the name on the voucher to me but Locauto wouldn’t accept it. So we had to pay the cancellation fee requested by Locauto of 180 EUR. Worst of all, they refused to re-rent the car that I had booked for my wife to me at the same price, offering almost double the price for the same rental agreement. I pleaded to them with 2 unsettled children behind me and all they had for my family and I was uncaring indifference. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU AVOID LOCAUTO IF YOU WANT TO AVOID DISTRESS. Special thanks to Auto Europe and Sicily By Car who came through for us in the end. Separate reviews for you to come.

Better to avoid. Unfair/unproperly documented damage charge. Car rented a Turin airport. Voucher for Alamo with no mention about Locauto. The nice lady at the counter asked me to sign there all documents, inlcuding car take-over, without seing the car. The low light in the garage didn't allow for a thorough check of the car and considering that I rented from a renamed company (Alamo) I trusted there will be no abuse which is tipical for cheap local Italian rental companies (Goldcar, Sicilly by car, etc.) At return, as I had an early flight, I dropped the key in the box at 7.40. To my surprise I was charged with a damaged rim 85 EUR and, additional, a penalty accident fee of 70 EUR. I asked the customer service for clarification and received a picture of a 3cm scatch on the rim, from where you couldn't tell if the damage was fresh or old. I asked for another picture and the explanation of the accident fee, since there was no accident, but, although promptly answered, I didn't get anything else than a standard answer and pointing to the Rental special conditions. Low price that makes you regret later. Better to avoid!
