★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The gas tank was not filled when I received it, they charged me more than the price on the receipt despite returning it with the tank completely full & the car they provided was horrendous (it could hardly go 100 kmh if there was a slight gradient and had terrible fuel economy)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They have a lot of hidden fees, i paid extra 25 euro to have 0 deposit, when should collect keys, surprise...still need to pay deposit, they promise to return deposit between 2-5 working days, before to collect car, i have 7 and still waiting.
Avoid this company!!!

They Saïd we were too young for that specific car, though they already knew our age when we made the booking. Of course they proposed another, inferior car for more than 3 times the price. We went elsewhere, but now still need to get our money back! This customer service is simply inhumane

Charged me for a extra full days rental when i returned the car 30 mins late. The reason for this was my return was on 26 December and could not find a petrol station open. Total extra charge was 132 euro including full day insurance, full day snow chains, half tank of fuel and refilling charge.
Car was also dirty when we picked it up
Today i notice a further 30 euro charge on my card (some 3 months after the rental) no explanation given, and i am still trying to get to the bottom of this.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They tried to charge me for “damage” to the vehicle I hired... fortunately I took photos.
They also tried to charge 181 euros to refuel the car. I did this at the airport for 69 euros.
Basically they will try it on, try avoid if you can. Definitely take pictures if the car if you already paid!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ AVOID AT ALL COST - INUTILI, INCUBO TOTALE, NON USARE HERTZ
- they bill me for existing damages reported and acknowledged and signed by Silvia at the desk before taking the car. The ticket where she marked the existing dents and signed by hand and stamp on is being completely ignored and disregarded by hertz customer services.
- after returning the car on time, the next day I received a rude call from the desk accusing me of not returning the car, incompetent team fails to check their cars in the garage, I then received a second call asking me where i left the key, they could not find the key. Which was returned safely on their key box, many inconsistencies.
I read previous articles about Hertz not been transparent with existing damages and taking advantage of customers by charging them for damages they did not cause, they have been taken to court for this many years ago, and looks like this type of practise continues to be exercised!
They deliberately do not disclose existing damages to the car to lump you with a big bill on return.
SHAME ON HERTZ.
