Fondata quasi un secolo fa, "custodisce" un vero patrimonio della storia sanitaria offrendo al visitatore la possibilità di vedere sia strumenti che materiale didaddico, anche molto datati. Excursus storico che narra di progresso e studi senza i quali non si sarebbero avuti i progressi attuali. Adjacent to the Santo Spirito hospital, near Vatican City, the Academy of History of Healthcare Art houses the National Historical Museum of Healthcare Art with exhibition rooms and library. Founded almost a century ago, it "preserves" a true heritage of health history by offering the visitor the opportunity to see both instruments and teaching materials, even very dated. Historical Excursus that narrates progress and studies without which there would have been no current progress.

A museum little frequented and yet overwhelming, dedicated to sanitary art and the instruments of ancient gynecology. Worth a visit.

È unica nel suo genere. È l’Ospedale più antico al mondo. Dal 1513 al 1516 ha ospitato nientemeno che il grande Leonardo Da Vinci che vi ha studiato il corpo umano come preparazione per le sue fantastiche opere. Lo scrittore Costantino d’Orazio ne parla in un libro dedicato proprio a questa prestigiosa presenza nell’Ospedale. La quinta stella se le amministrazioni riusciranno a garantire l’apertura per più giorni a settimana. An extraordinary and very interesting structure. The museum part is full of so many human remains, the medical instruments, equipment and old pharmacy. It is unique in its kind. It is the oldest hospital in the world. From 1513 to 1516 it hosted by none other than the great Leonardo Da Vinci who studied there the human body as a preparation for its fantastic works. The writer Constantine Horace talks about it in a book dedicated to this prestigious presence in the hospital. The fifth star if the authorities fail to ensure open several days a week.

È un vero peccato vedere che non c'è nessuna spiegazione, scaffali vetusti e polverosi, cartellini di spiegazione degli oggetti esposti piccoli e scritti a mano probabilmente più di 50 anni fa.... revisionate tutto vi prego! Ci sono tanti studenti delle accademie di belle arti che studiano "esposizione museale" e potrebbero dare nuova vita a questo luogo di scienza in cui si potrebbero passare ore e ore se solo non fosse completamente abbandonato.... The museum would be very interesting if only the exhibition were more curated and more usable. It is a real shame to see that there is no explanation, old and dusty shelves, explanatory tags of the small and handwritten exhibits probably more than 50 years ago .... review everything please! There are many students of fine arts academies who study "museum exhibition" and could give new life to this place of science where one could spend hours and hours if only it were not completely abandoned ....

Dotato di un cortile interno che ospita le pause caffè sotto il bellissimo sole di Roma. Essendo proprio in centro consiglio di raggiungerlo in motorino o con i mezzi.
