★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful Baroque church that is dedicated to St. John the Baptist, the patron of Florence, hence the name. It is also one of the few churches that offers a Sunday Mass in English, at 6pm. Besides the nice design and artwork in the church, be sure not to miss a foot cast in gold, to the left of the sanctuary. It is believed to be the foot of St. Mary Magdalene - the first foot that stepped in the Tomb of Christ.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful church with great works by Borromini (as well as the location of his grave) along with some other impressive artworks by Algardi, Domenico Cresti, Orazio Gentileschi and Giovanni Lanftanco, amonst others. Plan to visit the small attached museum to see some gems by Bernini, Daniele da Volterra and Michelangelo

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best homily I’ve ever heard in my life! Very beautiful church, with many pieces of art and sculptures that are incredible. It made our trip to Rome to come here for the 6pm mass on Sundays. Mass was very straight forward without all the singing...it started with a loud bell that rang then mass flew by. Taking the host was surreal. The church pews were about 80% full. Just an awesome experience to come to Rome and enjoy a mass there, and I’m sure glad we picked this mass. The Pope’s assistant wasn’t there this time but his colleague, a priest from London was there and he was absolutely spot on with his fantastic homily. He was trained in the Vatican and I’d say he is one of the best.
