Un posto magico da non perdere gli eventi che si svolgono al suo interno. Un piacere per gli occhi e per le orecchie.
A magical place not to miss the events that take place inside it. A feast for the eyes and ears.

Acustica quasi pwrfetta

Visit is usually possible, on week days with a fee of 10 euro, booking it in advance. Gonfalone, meaning banner, refers to the papal colours carried in processions by the confraternity of this Oratory now mainly used as auditorium since 1960. A small organ replaces the altar. Winding all along the walls mannerism style scenes narrate the Passion of Christ till Resurrection. Various artists including Federico Zuccari, frescoed it between 1569 and 1576 under Cardinal Alessandro Farnese patronage. The floor, and the carved ceiling are still the original ones. The inaccessible crypt keeps remains of the original medieval church.

I was lucky to attend a concert in this Baroque Hall, it has the ide size for chamber music and is of perfect harmony and proportions. Not open to visitors unless there is a concert .

A hidden gem well worth booking a reservation and making a short detour to see the extraordinary frescoes. A full cycle dedicated to depicting the Passion of Christ from the last decades of the 16th century by some of the finest living masters: Jacopo Bertoja, Luccio Agresti, Federico Zuccari, Cesare Nebbia and Marco Pino.

Nice acoustics in beautiful hall for a wonderful concert (originally built for church). Walk past this little concert hall (from about 1570) and look at the door and check out if there are concerts here. We have been lucky for 3 thursdays in a row with world-class musicians. Our photos show beautiful paintings on all walls from around 1570. October 2018 we went for Concerto Aperitivo sunday at 11 o'clock. Koncert and afterwards aperitivo and sandwich in the beautiful cellar. We can recommend this Sunday events very much. Always high quality music.
