Beautiful church from the sober outside but from the inside full of beautiful works of art despite its small size. It is used for funeral ceremonies of high prelates and I attended an evening mass with the ancient rite.

It is located in the central Ponte district, the Banchi district, hence the name of San Celso and Giuliano in Banchi, not far from Ponte Sant'Angelo, in an area that was very important until the 19th century for being on the artery of the only connection between the city center and the Vatican, before the construction of the last and most modern bridges over the Tiber. Remembered since the 9th century, the church was demolished to be rebuilt on commission from Pope Julius II, who requested a new project from Donato Bramante (1509). This design was not carried out due to lack of funds; two centuries later Pope Clement XII decided to have the church rebuilt according to the project of Carlo de Dominicis, completed in 1735. The church also had a chapter and, being a papal chapel by the pontificate of Innocent III, the canons were awarded by Benedict XV of the title of Secret Chaplain of Honor during munere and by Pius XII of the title of Secret Supernumerary Waiter during munere. Among the canons of the basilica there was also Mons. Nazareno Patrizi, who entered it in 1899 and then became a chamberlain under the pontificate of Pius XI.

β β β β β They never deliver your order. The waiters just hunt for patrons but have no interests for serving the orders. The most pitiful restaurant in Rome.

β β β β β Site of baptism of Pope Pius XII and one of my dear friends as well ?. Here you can also attend mass in the pre-1970 Roman rite. This is a church run by the ICKSP who are based in France and wear blue as part of their habit. Their seminary outside of Florence is also lovely.

β β β β β Nice little church, served by the canons of the ICRSS. Attended solemn high mass for Michelmas this evening. I wish I understood Italian, the sermon was delivered very passionately!
