Close to piazza Navona but rarely seen, this fine church is the mother church of the Augustine order. It houses a frescoe from Raphael as well as a painting from Caravaggio. A beautiful place and must visit .

This morning, i did went to this church. I did some photographs and did a little offer. I think that place, church, parroch and other buildings under restructuration have the necessity to be closed to public. As i entered it seems all dark, outside there was a piece of paper written that says that the'function' will be celebrated on sunday morning. There were two womans doing work with an archeological {, perhaps Covid-19?! suites}, other walking and talking in the central naval colum. The art work on the top of the building is as splendid as ever. Other place are unaccesible. If someone die in that church to the work of restructuration and it will be closed to investigation will be simpler to destroy that building that to find a witness. Unfortunately i was with cellular and not with the "computer" so i can't post the photographs.

The Madonna dei Pellegrini by Caravaggio is worth visiting St. Agostino. The story behind this painting is worth reading Caravaggio's extraordinary life.

This Church is frequently visited to pray for women who are pregnant or trying to conceive. At the back near the right side door there is a statue of the "Madonna del Parto" or Virgin Mary of Child Birth. Many people, not only Italians, have prayed here for Our Lady's intercession for couples with difficulties conceiving or the health of a newborn baby. You can tell many of their prayers have been heard just by the gifts of gratitude left around the statue.

One of the best churches in Rome. Amazing relics and lots of very old items from before the 6th century.

Delightful church just a little ways north of the Pantheon/Piazza Navona, which features a Caravaggio and a Raphael, the relics of St. Monica of Hippo (Augustine's mother), and a statue of "Madonna del Parto" (Our Lady of Childbirth), a devotional site for parents asking for (or thanking for) a safe childbirth. As of 2018, open 7:45 AM until Noon, then again from 4 PM to 7:30 PM.
