Best Art museum in Italia

F	Flaminia M. F. Roselli on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La signorina che ci ha fatto da guida è stata molto cortese e ci ha dedicato mezzora del suo tempo. Penso che vedere i luoghi dove l'artista viveva sia meglio di vederne 100 quadri al fine di estrapolare la sua personalità. L'appartamento è su due piani più un terzo che è una splendida terrazza non visitabile ( ai comuni mortali) , molti i suoi quadri appesi ai muri, statue sui tavoli o anche a terra..l'appartamento si svolge tra il civico 31 e il 32 di piazza di Spagna, l'unione dei due appartamenti si nota anche per il gradino e le altezze diverse dei soffitti. Anche se non è precisamente nelle mie corde consiglio a tutti di fare una visita a questa casa museo anche solo per apprezzarne lo splendido affaccio o per scoprire che de Chirico faceva l'aperitivo col punt & mes...quelle piccole abitudini che si possono cogliere visitando questo appartamento. La zona cucine non è visitabile anche perché è diventata la parte degli uffici della fondazione. Ultima chicca...de Chirico e la moglie avevano camere separate..la scelta migliore per un matrimonio lungo e senza troppi attriti? The young lady who acted as our guide was very courteous and dedicated half an hour of her time to us. I think seeing the places where the artist lived is better than seeing 100 paintings in order to extrapolate his personality. The apartment is on two floors plus a third which is a splendid terrace that cannot be visited (to common mortals), many of his paintings hanging on the walls, statues on the tables or even on the ground .. the apartment takes place between number 31 and the 32 of piazza di Spagna, the union of the two apartments is also noted for the step and the different heights of the ceilings. Although it is not precisely in my ropes I recommend everyone to pay a visit to this house museum even just to appreciate its splendid view or to discover that de Chirico was making an aperitif with punt & mes ... those little habits that can be grasped visiting this apartment. The kitchen area cannot be visited also because it has become part of the foundation's offices. Last gem ... de Chirico and his wife had separate rooms..the best choice for a long and frictionless wedding?

I don't know how the museum actually is, but if it's like their presentation, I can't give it more than 1 star

The house was acquired by Giorgio de Chirico in 1948. It was left to the state by his widow and opened as a museum in 1998. Only open by appointment, it is closed on Mondays and Sundays. The nearest Metro stop is Spagna.

The house is full of the artist’s original furniture and collected works from multiple periods in his life. Guides are friendly and knowledgeable. Pre-booking is required for 7 Euro. Since there isn’t much else to do near the Spanish steps (other than shop and eat at overpriced restaurants) this museum is an easy one-hour activity and well, well worth it.
