One of the places I'd always wanted to see was a proper ossuary and the Capuchin Crypt was nearby so we paid it a visit. After checking vaccinations and temperature we were allowed in, firstly to the museum. This had some interesting details about the order extending to their current activities today. The main attraction was the crypt but it was incredibly frustrating not to be allowed to take photos and I don't understand why. Some churches charge extra for a photography pass which is fine as it gets them more cash but this was just a ban. The bones were laid out on fantastic patterns and designs and some of the bodies appeared to still have mummified skin on them. But you won't know unless you look up pictures online as I have none to share!

There is a dark creepy vibe, but yet intriguing and mystical. Art made out of human bones with philosophical meanings. Definitely makes you think. Crypt is a lot smaller than i expected but still an unforgettable experience. Not for children at all!

The Capuchin Crypt is unlike anything I have seen in the past. When you first walk in you walk through a little museum. The museum itself is decent but not the main attraction and if you don't have much time you could quickly walk through. The crypt itself isn't that long, in fact it is quite short. However it is fascinating to walk through and a bit eerie. There are not pictures allowed in the crypt which disappointed me.

Interesting experience, quite a contrast to the catacombs in Paris. This place largely focused on the religious history of this place and the work still being done by the friars around the world. With the audio guide it explains a lot of the history behind the objects and the religious significance with items collected from the most noteworthy people who followed after St Francis. Definitely worth the admission for the history of it all on top of the catacombs section (about 6 rooms) - worth noting: no pictures are allowed inside

An interesting but unusual site. Ornately placed bones of deceased monks. Located at the start of the Via Veneto and very close to the Triton Fountain in Rome.

I came here for this was the venue for a Sacred Music concert. Turns out it included a guided tour of the church, the museum and the crypt followed by the concert in the church. The Sacred music concert was an interesting event of 10 or so acapella performance by 4 performers dressed in dark, hooded robes. If you have time in Rome I would recommend it. It's right next to a red line metro stop. The crypt was creepy. You pass by 4 or 5 rooms on the ground level decorated, in a LEGO piece fashion, with human bones

This is an incredible place and I highly recommend a visit. There is a museum first and then the actual crypts. I recommend the audio guide for the museum part as it gives a lot of helpful information. My only complaint was that it’s supposed to be silent but there were large tour groups with loud guides, which interferes with the silence. If you want to contemplate the crypts in peace (as I did) then I recommend taking your own earbuds and listening to music so that you can drown out the voices around you. Luckily I had earbuds with me so I put on my music and then took my time absorbing what I saw. It is a fascinating place.

Very interesting place. The displays in the beginning of the tour were very informative. The last portion had the displays. Not recommended for adolescent children. The gift shop at the end had a few items worth getting since you couldn't take photos.
