★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In posizione centrale sulla piazza si trova una colonna rigata in marmo bianco, con capitello ionico sormontato da una croce in ferro, di grande pregio infatti proviene da un edificio di epoca augustea del Municipio romano di Veio.
Fu fatta erigere nel 1847 da PIO IX in sostituzione di una già esistente.
Sul un lato del basamento è posta la seguente iscrizione:
“PIUS IX PONT MAX COLUMNAM AREAE AMPLITUDINI PAREM DONAVIT AN MDCCCXLVII”,
Che significa:
“Pio IX Pontefice Maximo donò una colonna di pari valore per l'importanza dell'area nell'anno 1847”.
Purtroppo si trova in una posizione infelice dove le macchine si parcheggiano a pochi centimetri, per fortuna che ci sono delle colonnine unite da inferriate per proteggerla da eventuali danni..
 In a central position on the square there is a striped column in white marble, with an Ionic capital surmounted by an iron cross, of great value in fact it comes from a building of the Augustan period of the Roman Municipality of Veio.
It was built in 1847 by Pius IX to replace an existing one.
On one side of the base there is the following inscription:
"PIUS IX PONT MAX COLUMNAM AREAE AMPLITUDES PAREM DONAVIT AN MDCCCXLVII",
What does it mean:
"Pius IX Pontiff Maximo donated a column of equal value for the importance of the area in the year 1847".
Unfortunately it is in an unfortunate position where cars are parked a few centimeters, luckily there are columns joined by railings to protect it from damage ..
