Such a nice place! A traditional trattoria with very good food. Absolutely lovely staff. They spoiled us with politeness and a warm welcome. Luca was our living menu. He suggested us very well and both of the guys that night were adorable. The service was flawless, prices are fair and desserts are good too. We shared some amazing pasta and saltimbocca which where so soft and yummy! Totally recommend this place! And recommend zabaione too.

What the Mussolini is going on with the service here? Totally not worth the humiliation and xenophobia.

On a picturesque Piazza in Rome's quintessential Trastevere district, this rustic family-run trattoria romana is a little time machine to an age before mass-tourism and low-cost airlines brought about the tourist- trap trends. Poplular with locals , here an affable owner will basically decide what's on your dinner's menu based on what's fresh on the day out of the kitchen. We tried very good sauteed mussels fried anchovies and a strong portion of a very savory spaghetti with clams a decent local white wine plus coffee and final rounds of amaro all for a particularly tiny price. Not for everybody and certainly not a sophisticated place in any way, but definitely more than worth a visit before you hit the area bars

Ignored by staff totally because we were not Italian. We didn't even get drinks we tried to order them three times. I don't recommend it at all.

I don’t know why people give negative reviews based on the fact that they don’t speak English! You cannot just expect the locals to cater to you and speak your language. I stumbled upon this restaurant and was very happy with the food recommended by the waitress. We had gnocchi that tasted like something my grandmother would make. Home made with love

VERY RUDE SERVICE, MOCK TOURISTS, CREDIT CARD SNATCHED FROM MY HAND TO OVERCHARGE US. PRICES ALL MADE UP ON SPOT. Do not visit here. Locals and Tourists treated poorly. After visiting nearby flea market, i quickly googled for a restaurant however did not read reviews which i usually do and now wish i had. We were sat down, given no menu and served by a lady with blonde hair who only spoke italian, we told her we spoke no italian (side note ; we do use a online translator and try meet halfway with language barrier) she contined speaking italian and as other reviews say "barked at us" , asked if wanted water and we were then bought a open white wine bottle and water. (From other reviews, they do this a lot with the wine) We didnt get to choose our meal, she said lasagane and ravioli repeatedly to us and thats what we got. We told them we dont want the wine and they said "no pay". And wouldnt take it away. As we waited on our forced food options, we witnessed the same thing happen to a couple next to us who spoke english, the same waitress with blonde hair approached them saying the same thing and they struggled saying, No we dont want that food, we want to order our own thing. Food arrived , ravioli very small portion and lasagne was cold. Also a portion of bread appeared when we had said no to antipasto or any of that. I took in the lasagne to be warmed up (spoke to a different waiter) and they did so. The original waitress with blonde hair walked past our table and signalled to us to say where is lasagne gone.. i then said cold / freddo  (tried using italian) and she walked off laughing and we are 100% certain making fun of us to other customers as i heard her saying cold and looking at us. We reluctantly finished meals, feeling very very uncomfortable. Walked inside and the blonde hair waitress comes in and meets us and we ask her if we can pay , she brings out a paper and pen and again  shouts at us our order and writes it down with other things we didnt have. Our meals were 9 euro each (only 2 meals) and it came to 30 euros.  I told her no and tried translating the issue, she started scoffing and throwing her hands up in the air , she took our credit card from my hand and walked to the cash register and put our card in the eftpos machine which i followed her and grabbed it out as we were not going to be charged that much. This seemed to upset her even though it was completley wrong of her to do that. She calls out to another waiter who seemed to understand english a bit more  , he crossed off something from the "bill" and said 28 euros , i said no we didnt order wine or bread , as i was speaking to him the blonde hair lady pushes past me , more like shoves into my arm and storms outside. I should have left at this point. We end up paying 22 euros.  4 euros extra on water i guess.... Absolutley terrible experience. Even without all of the unfair treatment, we have had much better food in other restaurants around Travestere.

Came twice. They dont speak a word of english but the wine is nice and the simple Italian food is good for a quick bite. We came because we didnt want to be bothered with a fancy meal, busy crowds and over attentive waiters.

Fantastic food and wonderful service. Prices and menu are written on the chalkboard outside the door on the left. There is a toilet inside. Had a wonderful lunch here. Edit: after reading the reviews I have noticed a consistency with complaints in the lack of prices but if you look you'll find what you need. There is a distinct difference in service between the brunette and the blonde waitress but I found that if you try a little with your Italian with the blonde she warms up immediately.
