★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This beautiful church is an amazing and prayerful place! It is down the street from San Francesco a Ripa and around the corner from Santa Cecilia. Santa Maria dell'Orto is my favourite church in Rome.

Sumptuous and unique church of the workers in Trastevere. It is rich in paintings and marbles. The monumental organ from XVIII century donated by Molinari family.

This goes to a must-see place during Holy Week on the Thursday before Easter when the Chancel if filled with "The Machine of 40 Hours" with over 200 candles. This display dates back to the 17th century -- the elements in use now date to the 19th-century -- and are meant to bring light into the darkness.
