★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Church has a number of very interesting and beautiful pieces of art , and should be visited. As located in trastevere it is surprising how few people find their way here. The statue of Ludovica made by Bernini is a masterpiece, the time of the great painter De Chirico , and several other objects.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not known to many Chiesa di San Francesco a Ripa, is the first Franciscan church in Rome, and the place where St. Francis d Assisi stayed. It houses the extraordinary lying statue depicting the 'Ecstacy of Blessed Ludovica Albertoni (1675), the last work of the great scuptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Also can be found there is the mortal remains of the great artist Girogio de Chirico that were transferred there in 1992.
