If you can avoid renting your car here, I would avoid it. With returning the car the guy that helped us was very rude. We were there waiting from 7:30, because they open at 8:00 and there was another man there (Italian) that was also returning his car and was waiting for 5 minutes and the employee helped him first whilst we already mentioned that we were waiting for a longer time than that man. Instead of helping us the employee gave me the key and asked if I could move the car to the carpark behind the building and he started helping the other man that was parked at the same area I was. When I said something about that he reacted quit annoyed and also started checking our car. When everything was checked and we went inside he helped the other man in 5 minutes so he could go and when he had to help us he was on the phone for around 15 minutes before he helped us with the administration. DON'T RENT YOUR CAR HERE. They don't have customer service if your not Italian or speak Italian.

Terrible and unfriendly staff. Will charge you for "cleaning" after bringing back the car in normal condition. Rented dozen of cars so far but never experienced like that. Good luck that the nice customer support at check24.de will help me on this case!

TO AVOID - DISHONNEST - UNPROFESSIONAL I booked my car online and prepaid with an insurance, my car wasn't there when I arrived ! They gave it to someone else despite the fact I aleady paid ! They invent you a lot of fees and force you to take a double insurrance. They are totaly unprofessional and take advantage of foreign people. After having paid fees they gave me.. a dirty car with used masks in it ! I even had to insist to have a sheet to prove that my car had no damage, be careful they will try to let you go without anything and your bank account will be emptied by them (read all the other comments) thanks god we took pictures and didn't leave without a form.

Very friendly guy at the desk. Another company couldn't give us our (automatic) car, so we were looking for a different company. They were flexible, friendly and didn't try to push an insurance on us (he even said it is not necessary, but we took it anyway). The car was brandnew, it only had around 1'000 km on it. He said the only available car was a peugot 3008, when he saw that it wasn't the car with the automatic transmission he upgraded us to a peugot 5008 for free. No problem at the drop off and he even let us put our luggage at their storage room, since our flight only flew out the evening and we had to give back the car in the morning. They were way cheaper than the other car rental companies, but more flexible. I read some had issuse with having to pay cleaning fees, but we made a different experience. I recommend it fully!

If you want to save your nerves and money while on vacation, I sincerely recommend to AVOID renting from or via Autovia. First of all, just like some other reviewers we were obligated to pay 150eur extra for what they called full insurance when picking up the car at Catania's Airport. I registered my husband as a main driver and myself as additional, providing my credit card details, but this wasn't enough. They demanded his credit card and since we didn't have one, they offered what they called a solution - pay extra for full insurance for myself (while I already paid for full insurance for my husband before). When we didn't agree, the representative simply ignored us and continued working. How nice is that? Since we were tired, we paid the extra fee and took the car. After a few days, we saw a bump on the front tire and then the 'wonderful' experience with the customer service team began. There was no spare tire, so they took our car to the garage and kept it for 1, 5 days!! The customer service team demanded to call ourselves to the garage and find out the status, agree on picking up etc. Oh and lets not forget - people in the garage didn't speak any English. So 1,5 days not using the car for which we paid + stressing ourselves and wonderful people from our hotel who could help in communication in Italian. Finally our car was fixed, so a customer service representative called and suggested to pick up ourselves. Distance was about 12km from our hotel. I asked to arrange the taxi and cover the fee. After agreeing with her manager, customer service representative called to say that Autovia will cover the taxi fee, but we have to ask our hotel to call the taxi and provide an invoice. We did all that was requested and after about a week received an email saying the taxi fee will not be reimbursed! I sent couple more emails when back at home. They were ignored. To sum up, we spent 200eur extra for a weeks rental, plus got enough stress to need another vacation. I sincerely hope that Autovia's personel will soon get rewarded for all the bad they do for their customers.

Actualy I've rented a car with OptimoRent, but they appear to be Autovia instead upon arrival. The desk was not so easy to find because of the reason mentioned above. Also they share office with other rental companies. But when you ask someone, then you will find it quite fast. That's where the trouble ends. We had problem with accepting our card just because of our own mistake. The stuff was very friendly and did everything to help us to roll out this situation to a success. Then we were given a new modern car with build it GPS. I would treat this as an upgrade. The car was clean and comfortable. Drop off was very fast and easy. The stuff is very professional. I realy loved the service and would reccomend Autovia to everyone.

We are very pleased :) Professional and friendly service, everything was fully explained. We received a clean and modern car with automatic transmission. The car had a screen with navigation, air conditioning and bluetooth connection. All defects on the car were marked in the contract. The reception of the car as well as the return went without any problem. Another plus is the fast response to emails in case of doubts during the trip. Highly recommended!

This company is made by absolute thieves, they charged us €100 more because we arrived 1 hour late due to public transportation and because β€œthey didn’t have” the car we rented at the time we arrived we only had the option to take a superior one for which we paid more. Additional to this four months later they charged us 60€ for administrative fee for a 40€ ticket, never rent with them a car in fact if I could give them a -10 in this review I will certainly will do it
