We ate lunch at the restaurant while passing through to another hotel, but we quickly regretted having not booked a room here. Great food, friendly staff and a beautiful view.

A lovely place to spend a night in the middle of a beautiful landscape. They even have a secluded pool which would have had a lovely view of the vineyard if the lower hedge had been trimmed down another half a meter or so.

Truly a wonderful place to recommend. Authentic local Tuscany cuisine with a large selection of Chianti wines at reasonable prices. Super friendly owners and fantastic service.

What an amazing vacation. We spent close to a week at Ville di Sotto as part of a longer vacation in Italy, France and the UK. I believe our only regret is we stayed there so early in our trip – it spoiled us for food and wine on the rest of the trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ville Di Sotto, the staff was so very friendly. We spoke very little Italian, but were able to manage very well within the villiage. The staff were exceptionally friendly and outgoing, taking every opportunity to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Paola, who we exchanged email with to make our reservations is such an excellent host – we truly appreciated her friendliness for a family of Canadians and their first trip to Italy. Gualterro, was often our waiter and also host; friendly and attentive – he always made sure we had what we needed for dinner. Make sure you try one of his Aperol Spritz’s; no driving after! The Villa that we stayed in was in a word beautiful. No air conditioning, but it did cool off in the evenings with the windows open. We had minimal issues with any flying bugs coming in – less than I would have thought or would have expected at home in Canada. The bedding was up to European standards, with enough bedding for our family of 4 to enjoy separate beds. The villa did come with a fully functional kitchen, refrigerator, stove and plates/cutlery. The villa had great hot water, and laundry available for minimal extra cost. We stayed in Borgo 4. Some would say it’s basic accommodation; but I wasn’t expecting or wanting a modern newly renovated apartment. It had genuine character. The village it’s self – so quiet both during the day, and magical after dark. Our two teen age kids thoroughly enjoyed the pools; we enjoyed the loungers! We didn’t use the kitchen as much as we had expected. The food at their restaurant was so good, and well-priced – we ended up eating there for dinners, and for a great, typical Italian breakfast. Dinners were a favorite – The family favorite was Buffalo Mozzarella and a Pistachio Pesto. Our waiter Gualtero was absolutely a fantastic host, always happy to help us with our Italian, wine selection, and of course menu recommendations and explanations. Agritourism… They source all their food, meat, veggies, wine all within a local area around them. Since they are in the heart of Chianti; it just doesn’t get any better than this! Many items were from their own local garden; many wines came from vineyards within pointing distance of their patio restaurant. The patio. Ohh, what a place to eat in the Tuscan sun, enjoy some wine with an excellent dinner, a bottle of local wine and watch the sunset. One word – make reservations for dinner – especially for their Sunday Pizza night. They fire up the wood burning pizza oven for a weekly special. It gets busy – the locals in the area make it out for this special day; so again – make reservations if you want to join! We were fortunate to be able to join during the Paleo; we did not attend the Paleo it’s self in Siena; but did enjoy it’s festivities with the Paola and all. Go Snails! We would return in a heartbeat – already thinking of how we can come back for another stay. We can’t recommend staying at Villa Di Sotto enough, 6/5 stars!

A beautiful agriturismo near Siena. After a morning of exploring Tuscany with two little kids we decided to stop for lunch at the Villa di Sotto. Even though we came fairly late, the hosts were accommodating and prepared delicious homemade meal for us. Everything we tried was wonderful: pasta, ravioli, soup, wine. They made their own olive oil, which was delicious. The Villa is located in a beautiful spot surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. Would highly recommend it for lunch or dinner. I’d advice to call prior to coming to make sure they are opened (they were closing for winter).

Staff is friendly and professional. Food was delicious and prices are ok. Parking is easy and if you'll eat outside you'll enjoy a great view over Siena.

I honestly cannot say enough great things about Villa di Sotto and Gualtiero. We visited two years ago (I forgot to write a review since then, sorry!), and we were here literally every day of our four day stay. We did not stay in the hotel but we came for lunch and dinner on a daily basis for the amazing food and the outstanding service and hospitality. They treated us like family and were extremely hospitable, warm, and welcoming. We can't wait to come back!
