Nearly all are soft and supple, but some feel stiff. The man is hilarious once you get to talk with him a bit. His English is okay, but you can easily work through it. He gives tips on how to care for the leather and even recommended cheaper bags than what we were looking at. Who does that? Check it out if in Rome.

The selection of commuter bags, briefcases backpack style purses, traditional bags, wallets, etc is really nice... but had to have my duffel this time! This is not a fly by night stand preying on tourists, but an established business that has been practicing the craft of making leather goods for years.

The craftsmanship was obvious--no mass produced bags and wallets like those found in the tourist districts. Prices were more than reasonable, so much so we purchased more than planned.
