That SPQR There are now various types of Romans Not all Christians can say: They were first Romanized That they do not know that they have become; For a few seconds the Romans came, Worse than it could happen, Of the novels they are the most manly And he doesn't care about this city. Then there are the ones that are cleaned up For the deaf, for the family, for power And they make me believe that I don't know what to do. The last ones came to them That the dead mortals are there, They are the best and they don't know why. I don't know if Sister Federico has "the dead mortals" or not, but if he did, I wouldn't be surprised at all. Even if he was simply a Roman, he would be the last of the first, proven in his saddle art, now on the verge of extinction. When you enter his shop you will find: science, conscience and above all benevolence.

I found Federico and his wife Roberta when i went on line to find a belt store in Rome. The angels then descended on me and brought me to his website. From the minute I opened it, I was in love and I could smell the aroma of Italian leather -the best there is!. The video of the shop was move than expected. I knew every thing here was hand made by a master craftsman - Federico. I dropped an email and shortly after, received a reply to stop at the shop to see him and his wife to see what it is I wanted made - a belt in this case to accompany a beautiful buckle I had and would bring with me. Upon arriving in the store just a few weeks ago in June 2018, Roberta, his wife, showed me where she marked on the calendar the dates of my visit. I was touched by that. Not only is Federico a gifted, artistic maker of beautiful leather bags briefcases, wallets, etc etc etc, he and his wife are warm, wonderful welcoming people. Federico did not have exactly what I wanted in his shop but went out of his way to find something for me and came back with 3 types of leather, of which one was beyond expectations. Nothing in my world comes close to things " fatto o mano" - hand-made and Federico is " master". The shop is a stones throw from the Pantheon around the bend from Piazza Minerva. If you are in Rome or plan to be there, I would say do not miss it!!!! They speak little Inglese, but you will be understood in what you may want. As a note, the store was featured in an article in Forbes magazine and Ms Julia Roberts has been in the store herself, having something made. Buon viaggio a Roma - and if you make it to the store, enjoy this as well! A Federico e Roberta Amore a te Ro

I know this is Rome, but I have seen similar high quality leather goods produced in-house but sold at a fraction of the cost throughout Italy. His stuff was nice but a tough pill to swallow given the alternatives. That said, I question whether there are other artisans like him in this city. This may be your only option for true handcrafted artisan work.
