Quando fu aperta la via Cavour, il livello stradale venne notevolmente abbassato e pertanto venne costruito il poderoso muraglione a contenimento del colle Fagutale (mons Fagutalis) e cosi la chiesa è su un piazza pensile, sospesa in alto con un magnifico effetto scenografico, ma purtroppo venne abbattuta la chiesa di Santa Maria Annunziata detta della Concezione. Questo edificio costruito nella prima metà del 'Seicento su progetto dell'architetto Torriani, ricade pienamente in quello che è lo stile barocco. Bellissima la linearità architettonica dell'esterno con particolari artistici ben studiati e ben inseriti, degno di nota anche il panorama che si può godere nell'intorno.
