We are staying at an apartment in Rome on the Piazza di Pietra, 39, 00186 Roma RM, Italy The company and checking in have been very good. The apartment is nice but small and is in an amazing location for touring Rome. We really saw everything we wanted to in two days due to the location of this apartment. It was so central that if I got up at 6.30 am you could get photos of the Trevi foutain and pantheon with absolutely no other person around. However .......the apartment is advertised as having air conditioning. It is the middle of the summer and an exceptionally hot july, the air conditioning is incredibly underpowered to the point of not having any effect. The results means that everyone in the apartment is dripping with sweat constantly. if you need to stay here in the summer book somewhere else. The company has said that they are sending two fans round so we shall see if this makes a difference. I have lived in many countries in my life Australia/Europe/California and this air-conditioning meets non of these standards. A real bummer as it could have a great stay rather than working about going back to a hot box. So after I wrote the above review Rome lofts brought round two fans that afternoon and boy did it make a difference. It went from unbearable to okay. I will say that romelofts did everything they could to help address the issue and went to every effort to fix the problem!!! Well done :) so I have changed my two stars to 4 stars. It would be 5 with the addition of a bathroom privacy curtain and some bathroom hooks

**this is a letter I sent to Marriot Homes & Villas Customer Care in regards to my recent stay. My husband and I just finished a stay at the “Trastevere Modern Apartment with Patio” from Romeloft SRL, booked through the Marriott Homes & Villas website. I have never been more disappointed with a stay in my entire life. The apartment was completely misrepresented in photos and descriptions online. I have absolutely no idea how this apartment falls in line with the Marriott brand standards. The apartment was cluttered with junk stuffed in drawers and cabinets in every room. It felt completely unclean, unhygienic and dingy. The towels and linens were paper thin, and we were only given one towel each for a four day stay. I was uncomfortable from the moment we walked in the place. The mattress was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever attempted to sleep on. There were springs literally bulging out of the entire thing making it impossible to get comfortable or stay asleep. I had to move to the living room couch to get any kind of sleep. Both my husband and I had back pain during our entire trip from the mattress. I was literally brought to tears the first night because I was so disappointed and uncomfortable. We found a couple blankets in other rooms that we laid over the mattress for the rest of the nights but it only made it slightly less painful to sleep on. The website states that the apartment rental includes “Starter Kit of Bathroom Amenities: Soap, Shampoo, Hair Dryer. Premium Linens and Towels.” Not only were the towels and linens a far cry from premium, there we zero amenities in the apartment—we had to search for a hand soap. We found one bottle of hand soap that we shared throughout all the sinks. At one point, the toilet brush was knocked over and disgusting dirty water spilled all over one of the bathroom floors. The terrace area was just a filthy as the rest of the apartment with junk and trash shoved behind door and in corners and a leaking A/C meant buckets of water scattered throughout. It was impossible to enjoy and another huge disappointment since the terrace was one of the reasons we booked the apartment in the first place. I have been an extremely loyal Marriott customer for decades and I feel that we were cheated with this apartment. If this place falls into the standards of the Marriott Homes & Villas, then I can assure you I will never book another stay again. I don’t believe that these places are marketed as budget options, but this place certainly felt like I was staying at a cheap roadside motel. The man who checked us in was nice but that was literally the only positive experience in the entire trip. I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but I feel an obligation this time. I hope that measures are taken to prevent this from happening again.
