★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Mediterranean, with all its bounty, is a stone’s throw from Lucca. But while there are usually a smattering of seafood offerings on many local menus, Ristorante Per 21 is one of only a couple of Lucchese restaurants that takes advantage of Lucca’s location, and makes it the star attraction. Frankly, I never even looked at the menu after I heard the nights Prix Fixe of 3 courses…grilled skewered prawns with a hint of Asian flavors, homemade fish filled ravioli on a sauce made from fresh tomatoes out of the chef-owner’s garden. and sea bass over perfectly seasoned green beans. No need. A totally delightful meal and dining experience.
For dessert, I asked to finally look at the menu…in anticipation of my definite return.
Ristorante Per 21’s casual and sophisticated, contemporary presentation, food and atmosphere, would shine in any city. Its rarity in Lucca, makes it very special.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A truly unique experience within the walls of Lucca. The Italian chef has worked over 20 years in Asia and the dishes he finely curates are a mix of Italian tradition and a more international and modern take. The owner and wife are very kind and put a lot of passion into their work.
Excellent food, service and experience. A definitive must go.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So happy that my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this lovely and cozy restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious (one of the best we’ve had in Lucca), fresh and contemporary! We have been there twice so far and the plates always amaze us. They make their own fresh pasta, the seafood is to die for and the owners are a lovely couple who will make sure that you are having a wonderful time. We can’t wait to be back! Grazie!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an amazing dinner!! I was reluctant to try it as I am very fussy about my seafood…but my husband insisted we give it a try. We opted for the 3 course fixed menu…..and it was a surprise every time a dish was brought out. The shrimp with gnocchi and carrot ginger sauce….wow. Bravo! Excellent service and wine. A hidden gem. The couple who run the restaurant are super nice and they will absolutely make sure you have a great time. The weekly menu is Italian cuisine with fresh seafood influenced by chef's years of working all over the globe. We've returned twice and we can't wait to come back!
