★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sensational food, first class service and a great ambience. Seasonal Italian food prepared and presented with flair. It’s obvious the owners care about what they are offering here. Probably one of the best restaurants in Lucca. Sitting outside under a full moon eat fantastic food, drinking great local wines in the best company. What more could you want. An experience not to be missed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the seafood platter which was AMAZING! 3 stars because our waiter was a little sarcastic and the table was dirty (tomato sauce?) on it. Other people were to too enthusiastic about their food items, but if you want a delicious seafood plate that was perfect for a hot day this might be just for you!

But the food was NOT as you should aspects if your see the website? the food is not home made it is from cans, the tartar is with huge chups of meat, you have too chew through, by no means tender. and the garnish is pulled right from the cans ? the scallops was cooked ok, but again garnish from cans ? main course was Angus raw, but the sauce was a mausterd it dif not combined at all... with the deep fried mashed potatoes ? our daughter had the kids menu chicken with potatos sorry to say but "Mac Donald" would have been better, they know how to cook the French fries ? after all they are not raw. They have a really nice place, and a really nice staff, but they REALLY need a New chef.
The table next to us had fish platter, it smells of fish. Hope there stomachs is okay. The price was 120 Euro but they made a discount to 100 euro. So we think the sweet male owner will do better next time

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been staying in Lucca for the past month and at last count we have been to over 14 restaurants during our stay. Lucca is definitely a town with great choices for places to eat, but with any doubt Peperosa has been by far our favorite restaurant and because of that we have been there four times over the month!!!. The food is absolutely excellent, beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. The staff and the service they provide is top class. We hope to come back to Lucca in November & Peperosa will definitely be our first stop. I am very happy to recommend this lovely restaurant as my number 1 recommendation for a place to eat if you are visiting lovely Lucca. ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don’t be fooled by its location in the lovely piazza amongst the tourist fare. This is the real deal. We took the recommendation of the Michelin Guide and weren’t disappointed. We loved the delicious house made pastas and venison. Very creative cooking and excellent presentation. Not too be missed if you’re after fine dining.
