We ordered Florentine steak and tomato based pici.. Both of them were wonderful ... I was particularly impressed by pici. I've never had/seen pici before.. even in Little Italy in NYC. You should definitely try it. We also ordered a pint of wine and it came out with the beautiful little pottery. A bit expensive (60 something euro only for steak) but Florentine steak is expensive anywhere. They charge you by gram. Although slower compared to the U.S., the service was very good in general. The server did everything for our table if ask. Worth every penny and highly recommend.

Really nice smallish restaurant with a family-friendly feel to it and very nice & helpful staff. I came in wanting something not on the menu : a mixed meats and cheese antipasti plate. The cook instantly conjured up a lovely selection for me. Together with a very palatable Tuscany red wine, it really made my day! I really recommend this place.

Zero, like 5 meters, distance from our hotel number nine, very charming little restaurant, love the family cozy yet beautiful decor. The service girl is so nice, with great recommendations. They know we share plates so every dish brought up is presented in two different plates, beautiful plates by the way. Mushroom and chicken liver pate are the best of appetizer plater. The handmade pasta, OMG, is to die for, fresh and rich of flavors and very well cooked(not too soft not undercooked either). Added espresso at the end, perfect!

I would honestly give this place another star if I could. In face I would fly back over to Florence ONLY for this restaurant. SO good. Pasta was unreal and steak was even better. Just go, if you're thinking about this for a visit.. GO.

FOREIGNERS BEWARE: We unfortunately had a poor experience tonight at this restaurant. It is our first night in Florence, and our hotel manager recommended this restaurant to us. I read the reviews and was excited to have our first meal here. Overall the food was good, the kitchen gets a ?, but the service was abysmal. I considered that they were busy and maybe short-staffed, despite several open tables, but one server said that tonight was not busy. Essentially, a female waitress was clearly not having a good night and taking it out on all of the tourists/foreigners dining in the restaurant. She would throw menus down, walk away and ignore you without coming back. We never received water or an introduction to the menu or even the restaurant! In fact, she didn't even ask us if we needed a translated menu or help with understanding the menu, she just threw down a menu in French (we didn't speak French) - maybe because we tried greeting her in Italian? We tried to be courteous, respectful, and interested guests to her city and restaurant, and what we got was dismissiveness, condescension, and rudeness. We saw this happen to other foreigners in the restaurant, one table up and left because of being ignored for so long. We thought of leaving too, but had placed our order already and tried to give it a thorough chance. We were never greeted, introduced to their menu, offered wine suggestions or popular item suggestions. They didn't seem at all pleased that we chose to dine with them. Our appetizer was unappealing to us (paté) and we were still charged despite not eating it (okay no problem). But helping us order would have alleviated a problem like this. We had no help with the wine selection, but fortunately we chose well with that (randomly). We had the chicken entree with potatoes, plain and simple, but good. We also had pappardelle with boar meat. This was tasty. They slapped down a dessert menu onto our table without talking to us at all, and when we declined dessert, picked it up in a huff and walked away. Seriously some of the worst service I've had ever, and a terrible introduction to treatment in Florence. We had just come from Naples and would go back for their hospitality in a heartbeat.

Solid. Tasty food, cozy atmosphere, polite staff. Not 5 because have been in better restaurants in Florence for the same price range.

Delicious pasta and meat. We had a pasta with mint pesto and the Florentine bisteca. The wine was also very good and the service kind and just as it should. This is definitely recommended to real foodies.

Recommended from an Italian friend and was amazing. The service was great,the food was delicious...it is an authentic osteria,with traditional decoration.
