A complete con. Find a reputable company. Two scratches on the car that we were told β€˜did not need to be logged’ as they were wear and tear / small. But of course, on returning the car this damage was apparently caused by us. Thankfully had proof and insurance to cover me, but was out of pocket for months while fighting my case. Not worth the risk as they will no doubt find something the car you missed, especially if you pick up late.

I had originally booked a car with a company called Gold Car (which I later found out was a complete scam). Locauto happened to be next door at the airport, and I had talked to the ladies here as I was dealing with a problem over at Gold Car. The stark contrast in service is the first thing I noticed. My Locauto experience was amazing, they were friendly, fast, and so helpful. There were no hidden fees, the car was new and great, they gave me a couple free upgrades for my hassle, and just were all around spectacular. I've been to Florence many times and will book with them again next time I'm there. The process was easy, and enjoyable...the polar opposite of what happened to me next door at Gold Car. GO WITH LOCAUTO's business. It's a run by a husband and wife, a very cool duo with great employees. Thank you again for saving the day and the vacation!

I really do not recommend. I rented a car from Locauto on my first trip to Italy. I taked the car at the Florence airport and after three days the vehicle dashboard showed low engine oil level. I sent an email to Locauto Firenze and they asked me to complete the oil (which cost me 19 Euros), saved the receipt to be refunded in Napoli on the car return. At this day, I was informed that I would not be refunded because the receipt "was not valid". Even after showing the email received from Locauto Firenze! Locauto Napoli told to send an email to the customer service center. This happened in August 2019. Several emails sent in September October and November. Untill now, no answer from Locauto! If you are thinking of renting a cheap car, as I did, my advice is to pay a little bit more and avoid the risks of heaving problems during your trip as I had. I'm not talking about just the reimbursement that didn't happen, but about safety, about using a car with no maintenance. That car was working with more than 1L of oil missing. That could even had caused an accident. I know that because I am a maintenance engineer. If the oil level of the engine, which is easy to control, was uneven, I can imagine the situation of the brakes, transmission, suspension and safety equipment. It is a shame that in Italy there exist companies like Locauto that do not properly maintain their vehicle fleet, putting on danger people`s life. Remember, when you are travelling with your family, as was my case, the last thing you want is to have a problem with a car inside a country that is not ours. I got lucky, nothing bad happened. Because of my experience, I do not recommend car rental with Locauto.

The lady at the front office was very kind, the car was sanitized before handed to me, with covering plastic in the touching points, everything was explained perfectly and finally the car was amazing, bright color and fun!

Am I able to access your offices / rental park coming from outside the airport - i.e. traveling by train to the airport and rent the car from your rental park at the airport? They came up with freak fraudulent charges, over €500. Claiming a dent on the roof. We took a video of the car all around, there was nothing there. The β€œproof” picture they sent has something that is hardly noticeable, probably has been there for years, probably they use it to scam every single person who rents this car. Do not rent from this company. We thought we were renting from Alamo, turned out to be this partner.

Amazing service from Francesca. We rented a nice car without pre-booking in advance. The price/quality ratio is nice. Pick-up and return easy. Francesca also gave tips about the city which we really appreciate. Recommend!

The owner responded to my fraudulent charges below and when I go on their website to contact customer service, it’s all in Italian. I can’t even get a hold of anyone directly to reverse the charges. See my original post below. The car I rented was nice and service was good when I rented it. 2 months later they charged my credit card 2 more times for nothing. I wasn’t even in the country. No text, no e-mail, just 2 more random charges on my card.
