★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best rental car experience in Rome! After several adequate experiences with other companies, we rented a vehicle here at Locauto for a 10-day family road trip. The staff were all friendly, the rental process was fast and clear, and the vehicle was better than expected. Bonus, it was also extremely fuel-efficient. Finally, there were were no tricks when we returned the car. Even that process was clear and easy. We look forward to the next rental!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My car was booked for 12:00 am. I got to airport earlier and asked is it possible to rent earlier, they said no problem. At the contract return time 12:00, so I asked twice, at what time is drop off. They said 12:00 will be ok. So I took the car at 11:00 and was really surprised, when returned it at 11:30 and got penalty for one day more (don’t even say that 1 day according to my contract was 68 eur, they took from me 98 eur as penalty).
This company is scam!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DO NOT RENT A CAR WITH THIS COMPANY!
We were to return the car in another office, but it was closed when we arrived (they told us it would be open!!). After several calls with different offices, Locauto's central office sent us to the Termini office. Therefore, we had to traverse Rome and were late for the return. WE HAD TO PAY 160 EUROS FOR ANOTHER FULL EXTRA DAY.
Of course they will suggest down here that I contact them in order to solve this matter... I already did, and they didn't even bother to answer!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've rented a car with Locauto in October 2021. I booked the car via Rentalcars and got a nice upgrade from Audi A3 aut to Volvo V60 aut for the same price. The car was in a good condition (9000 km) and everything went great. There was a queue when I was picking a car though it took like 20 mins. Fast car checkout and deposit release. Professional and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You cannot visit Rome without at least 1 scam. This was my biggest scam and mistake! I arrived 15 minutes late and waited 30 minutes to be checked in. They charged me for another full day plus 50%. I was charged nearly 300 euros for a 2 day rental of a tiny clown car. They know how to rip it to tourists.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I booked a car through Enterprise with Expedia. Navigation found other places and barely made it here. But, that's not really the problem. The woman who rented me the vehicle treated me like I was a moron for not knowing it was a particular saint's day in Rome.
She refused to give me the car unless €750 could be held on my debit card. That's almost $1000 dollars with the actual fees for the rental.
I was truly worried I wouldn't have a car for our side trip to Pompeii and Amalfi. I bit the bullet and rented it anyway against my better judgment.
My kids and wife were looking forward to this trip as was I.
I had just rented a car a week earlier from Europcar in Venice and that was a smooth and easy experience.
I've never had a problem renting a car anywhere in the world except here, that includes London, Paris, Athens, Venice, etc. I've never had a problem anywhere and always get along well with everyone when traveling. They did refund the hold after a few days, but I would not recommend Locauto to an adversary, find another rental place. I'll be reporting this to Expedia as well.
Bad experience. There is no late/garage drop off, either. You have to park on the streets of Rome, then hustle back in the am to drop off the car.
