★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This company literally employs thieves. The car was returned before the office closed on a Saturday and handed off to an employee in their return garage. I was charged $118 for an extra day after they claimed I did not return the car. Despite providing them with a google maps GPS timeline and a timestamped video showing the returned vehicle in their garage, they refused to reverse the charge. As the vehicle was a Mercedes, I suspect the employee took the car on an overnight joyride, leaving me to try and fight the charge from overseas. I had to initiate a dispute with my credit card company to resolve. If you do rent here, take a picture of the employee to whom you return the car.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BE VERY CAREFUL !!!!!!!
We had our bags stolen INSIDE the store while waiting for our car, and guess what? This was a regular occurrence in that store. The thief somehow knew that we were going to rent a luxury car, and stole all our bags...
Then the car arrived 3 hrs later, the window, mirror, and convertible option was not working at all.. they said that this JUST happened because the car was WASHED. So the water apparently destroyed a brand new Maserati. Which was another fraudulent activity.
When i started driving i was stopped by the police and apparently i had no copy of the insurance and the papers were not stamped, he happened to be so nice and understanding that he did not give us a warning but asked me to email Europcar to get a copy of the insurance.
So i emailed Europcar, and of course i didnt get anything from Barbara specifically.
When the car was returned, they told me they would see a potential discount. The result ? They overcharged me 500 euros after i had left the country.. so now i am reporting a Fraud to my bank and credit card company.
The result, you will get targeted by thieves inside their store, you will wait hours, you will get non functional cars, you will get tickets cause of missing paperwork, and when everything is over, you will get overcharged on your credit card.
And after doing lots of research, i saw 1000’s of people with the same experience, you will also see a sign inside their store to be careful from stolen bags :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Location is good. I am disappointed with this rental experience. We use Europcar a few times a year. This time is the worst. The staff first suggested us to have full insurance coverage ( we booked and paid for medium insurance coverage). We listened to then and pay 120 euro on top of what we paid already.
Then we got a car that is not what to booked and paid—— the trunk only fit 2 hand luggages. We have to drag our luggages back to the office to talk to the staffs. She said unless we upgrade our car, this is small one is the one we are getting. I asked why do i not getting a car a booked for and have to pay more. The staff said i am only and employee here. There is nothing i can do. We have to pay 200 euro extra again to upgrade to a bigger car for the 6 days use.
So if you are traveling to Italy, want to rent a car, pack lightly
And/ or confirm the size of your car.
When i book in Germany, i make the same choices online for 2 suitcases car, in all times i get the right size. Rome seems to be different.

The car was third rate, shame and pity on a big firm like Europcar….

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all: when we got a car, fuel tank was empty. Okey they said, not a problem, return the same condition. And they haven’t marked that anywhere until we get into arguing and upper voice. Also, in car panel engine light were appearing. And what they say? It is okey, its not a problem. Just go. Of course we argued, but they keep reapeting that its ok. Ok, we left with car. Car was dirty, there was mask from covid left in the car. Not very joyfull moments with europcar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don’t rent a car from here, there is a scam. Charges 30 euros cash to turn in the car at 6 pm after the office was closed.. Reported this to the office and was told “to bad”. Address is 51 via Sardegna.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The word rental company I’ve ever had a displeasure to use. We had to sign the contract before seeing the car, then the guy who was giving it to us pretty much pushed us out when we wanted to look around the vehicle and do the pictures, said everything’s in the contract (turns out it wasn’t - what a surprise). The tank was half full, the interior was so filthy we had to go straight to the shop to get cleaning wipes, they didn’t even bother to throw away the trash left by the previous customer. Covid precautions they assure to have on the site are simply a joke. Don’t rent there, not worth your nerves.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't trust them ! My car wasn't supposedly ready and they gave me another one, who just came back from a previous rental, so they said. The car was dirty, not fully tanked and the trunk cover was missing. When we mentioned it to the staff, he said that it's often the case in Italy, to avoid the part to be stolen (!). We were naive to believe it. We ended our rental on a different Europcar station and about 2 months later, Europcar Italy debited € 296 to my credit card because of the missing trunk cover ! I send immediately an email to explain what happened, but I've got a negative answer and they confirmed the amount to be paid by me, leaving me no additional legal options.
I have no other word as "fraud" to describe their attitude. I'm a longtime Europcar customer and I know that their business model is a franchise, so that the overall quality depends on the owner of the local agency. Nevertheless, not accepting a customer statement as a crucial part to assess the facts is a systemic fraud. I will avoid Europcar in Italy from now on. What that did is taunting Italy's reputation as the country wouldn't need it. Be careful and again: don't trust them.
