THEY CHARGED ME ALMOST 100β¬ FOR ABOUT 30β¬ missing gas...
THE PERSON I DELIVERED MY CAR AT THE AIRPORT TRIED TO SCARE ME ABOUT A DAMAGE ON THE CAR DOOR, WHICH HAPPENED BEFORE RENTING THE CAR!!THANK GOD I TOOK PICTURES BEFOREHAND AND SHOWED HIM....

NEVER AGAIN BUDGET!!

I made a reservation in 6 month for two week trip. Reserve station wagon, so it should fit up to 5 people 2 large and 3 small suitcase. Price for reservation EUR 454. Because our hotel located in ZTL zone on small street I prefer to take taxi to car rental office.
When we got there, they have only one car with automatic transmission. I'm sure they lie. That car fit only one large and one small suitcase in cargo. All other luggage I have to put on back sit to my teenager son. He was not happy. I have to use paid garage on every small stops. I spent money and time to find garage has space and close to my destination. After all price for that lover category car was EUR 535. Agent Carlo Formasari was rudΠ΅. He tell us, we can cancel our reservation and look car in another place. I use Budget/Avis for more as 10 years and first time I so problem like that. Last time Budget give me car two class higher without any extra pay. Avoid that location.

β β β β β Worst experience I could have!
I made a reservation almost 2 months before of 2 WAGONS type of car! We were 8 people with one suit case each so I did the reservation because I really needed cars with big trunk and knew that in this period of the year is very full.
When we got there they didn't have any wagon so they started to offer some cars. The first car that they showed us was a normal one. We emphasised that we needed a big one because of the suitcases! The only answer of them were "so, you will have to wait"!
We asked for how long and the answer "we don't know"! They offered 2 categories higher than ours but the problem was the same... all of them with a small trunk!
This really got me angry because it doesn't make sense at all having a reservation if it doesn't matter at all! After almost two hours spender with no solution we founded another rental car, pay more expensive and solve the problem by myself! They cancelled the reservation as the hole problem was ours.
Totally irresponsible.

β β β β β Beware of Autonoleggio! DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR ANY PROVISION TRANSACTIONS MORE THAN THE TOTAL RENTAL CHARGE OF THE CAR!! If we could read about them here and if they would like to insist and compel us for getting relevant provision more than the total rental charge, we would exactly reject this condition and looking for another company. Here is the whole story, it is up to you to keep continue for car rental or staying away from this car rental company. We find this company via expedia, with a bundle deal including hotel booking, we rent an economy class car for couple of days. Although we were not so much volunteer regarding getting an insurance package from Expedia by paying 8 Euros per day, the officer lady in the company pushed us so much for buying an insurance by exaggerating even small risks. For the same insurance package per day 13.8 Euros she asked for which is 5.8 Euros more expensive than Expedia. We still look for to buy it directly from Expedia, however she said henceforth it is impossible to buy it from Expedia. She said Either buying it from them or without any insurance we can keep continue our way. Even though we learn that it was still possible to buy this insurance package from Expedia later on we noticed it, at the end of the day, it was our fault, we should check it carefully before. Anyway, the issue is not that, The main issue is, The total payment car rental with insurance package they told to us costs 97 Euros, however they didn't charge our credit card in advance, they asked just for a provision which costs 300 Euros from our credit card which is app. 3 times more than the total cost. When we ask for the reason, she told us, it is a rule for security reasons. What kind of security could be necessary after we purchase an insurance package I dont know I said, however we were tired and need to go through Toscana route Asap and accepted this provision request. For any probable conflict, for future, I took pics of car and gas gauge as a proof. To sum up, before delivery back of the car at the aiport, I went a gas station and arrange the level of gas as they deliver us at rental office which is a bit less of full gas tank like the photo I have. After that reach to the Fiomicini Rome Airport, find responsible officer there, show him the pics of the car that I had at the beginning, he said everything is ok you can go and when I return back to home, I had a surprise. The total amount they charged from my credit card is 135 Euros which is almost 40 Euros more than the agreed amount 97 Euros. First I called Autonoleggio office that I rent the car, explain the situation and asked for the reason of overcharging, the officer lady said it is due to delivery back with less gas tank, I said I have pictures, she said she can't do anything, call Avis Budget customer service Italy, I called them but no way to reach an English speaker person or a robot that capable to forward me. So, I called Expedia Italy and US regarding the issue however they tried to be get rid of this issue and from any responsibility. The result is, it is a modern type of robbery, nonethical and unfair. SO DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD TO THEM FOR A PROVISION MORE THAN THE AGREED RENTAL AMOUNT WITH INSURANCE OR WITHOUT INSURANCE. Frankly if I were you, I would stay away from this company.

UPDATE-after returning home discovered that the agency charged me for 2 separate car rentals for the same days. After a long phone call they realized their error and deleted the erroneous rental.
and again UPDATE-8 months later I just received notice that the second car rental that wasn't mine has been sent to collections. Thanks guys

β β β β β Less of a review, more of a WARNING about our experience. BE CAREFUL when renting a car from this location as we experienced a SLASHED TIRE, which led to STOLEN ITEMS just 5 minutes from this Avis/Budget location.
My husband and I rented a car here and experienced a flat tire within 5 minutes. We thought it must have happened due to the cobblestone streets. We tried calling the Avis road side service number provided to us and the automated menu did not work and would not lead us to an customer service agent. We also tried calling the rental office and no one picked up. So decided to put the spare on ourselves and return to the rental office for a new car. During our efforts, various people were distracting us and in such distraction RAN OFF WITH ONE OF THE BACKPACKS from the car!! Upon returning to the rental location to get a different car, one of the men in the garage took a look at the flat tire and automatically knew it had been slashed. We had become victims of a scheme!
The rental agent mentioned THAT SUCH INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE and they have stopped mentioning it to their customers because they do not want to scare anyone. However, I would have rather heeded a warning then experience what we did.
Please travelers, BE CAREFUL! Do not let what happened to us happen to you. Be careful of your surroundings. And make sure you call the road side service number before leaving the rental office to make sure the number works!

β β β β β My experience here was mediocre because I know of the many tactics car rental agency use. I got the car I needed at a fair price. Becareful with the agreement when they demand pre-authorisation on credit card and be patient.
I booked a car on Expedia with automatic transmission but this agency only had manual which is expected in Europe. I took it anyways.
After waiting 30 min for the agent to serve customers, the process took 15 min for me to obtain my car. Knowing the many tactics car rental agents use, I asked for clear explanation when they demanded a 124β¬ credit card pre-authorisation for petrol in case I didn't re-fill the tank. The agent claimed that 124β¬ to re-fill is the same cost for me to re-fill by myself. The invoice showed the balance due as 124β¬ so I insisted I don't owe any money (pre-paid on expedia) and I will re-fill the tank. After many questions, she reluctantly re-printed the invoice twice to eventually show I owe 0β¬ and I ensured it was only for pre-authorisation on the terminal when I entered my credit card PIN.
Examine the car before leaving!
When I re-filled the tank, it only costed me 45β¬ for 70% (so a full tank would be 65β¬) which was half of the cost the Avis agent claimed.
Re-fill tank yourself. Examine car before leaving. Ask questions.

β β β β β Horrible experience. Booked an automatic car, showed up to pick up car and the store was closed. (During normal working hours) Called every number I could, including the one on the front door and never got an answer. Found another worker (who worked for a different rental company in the return section) who called for us and when the worker finally picked up they said they didnβt have any automatic cars and they would call us. Never received a phone call. Went over to hertz who thankfully were able to get us a car last minute. Do not go here.
