★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic. We ate here our first night and then came back our second night too. The second night they were doing a degustation menu with wine pairing, which was very reasonably priced (and delicious). The food, service and ambiance can't be beat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After all of the great reviews, we were rather disappointed with our experience. It is indeed a lovely restaurant, but we were not impressed with the quality, taste and flavouring of our meals. I had the sausage ragú, and my wife had the lamb, and both were OK but not great. We also shared the tiramisu and even that was one of the worst we have had in 2 weeks in Italy.
The best part of our experience was actually the movie downstairs that shows all of the movies that have been made in Matera since the 1950s, and leading up to the James Bond movie in 2020. That alone was worth the visit, but sadly it wasn’t enough.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super restaurant. I would definitely suggest it. The atmosphere is very classy cosy and not too over styled, the food was very tasty and the people very very polite. Even though we didn’t have any reservation and it was quite a busy period the people tried to find us a table at a nice spot. Many thanks !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved La Lupo. The wait staff were fantastic, enjoyed practicing their English whilst we practiced our best Italian. Attentive, passionate and knowledgeable about their regional artisan food and wine, which all added to a great evening meal.
The food was equally sensational, especially the specialist sausages we had in both the stand-alone terracotta dish and in the cavatelli pasta.
Post dinner we were able to enjoy a history of Matera cinema in their deep cavern.
Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic- I wish I lived here so I could come regularly! Great setting. High-end service. Lovely complementary snacks on arrival. The orrichette was delicious. The gelato with fig, almond and fennel seeds was outstanding. The cinema in the basement showing scenes of Matera was a nice touch.
