★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We really enjoyed our lunch here and they clearly take food very seriously and have an interesting and authentic menu. One mix up with our antipasto was quickly resolved and all pasta dishes were delicious, with some very tempting choices which I hadn't seen elsewhere on menus. Staff were friendly and service was fine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent. I can only recommend the pignata (slow cooked meat with vegetables served in a clay pot with pizza base cover which is then used as a dish). Also the mixed antipasti are absolutely worth it. Fair prices. Just outside the main square with the viewpoint, so also position is convenient

The pizza had fresh and quality toppings. Tasted delicious with the complimentary hot sauce.
Even the house wine was passable.
I would recommend this establishment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the place if you want to try traditional dishes of Matera. The Pignata is a bread-covered stew of lamb and vegetables (the bread has the perfect texture for dipping into the stew); the Gnumredd is lamb innards rolls with juicy grilled onion and tomatoes; and a House Antipasti has mixed cheese, meats and interesting local appetizers (enough for two to share). All together with half a liter of house Red is less 45eur. Terrific value!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are in Matera, don’t miss this one! Possibly the only place where you can have a taste of the pignata, an authentic traditional Matera food, which is stewed lamb in a bread bowl. Also not to be missed is their appetizer platter, very creative, the local cheese is so delicious! However, what needs to be improved is their service...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow! Even if it was in July, i had to get this lamb soup could under the most delicious pizza Bread cap. Customer service was also excellent as the owner came by and explained the history of the pignata dish. Worth walking outside of history matera to try this meal!!
