★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I gave it 5 stars since there are only 5. I would say it is the best hotel experience I have ever had around the world. Excellent location and view, characteristic cave rooms, boutique spa, and helpful staff. The whole experience was smooth and everything was above our expectations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Matera is transcendent. While other parts of Italy are fabulous in their own right, Matera is a place that will move you. The history and environment might not exist anywhere else in the world.
The service at Aquatio was phenomenal. Enzo and everyone else were world-class; this is not true of all places in Matera.
The prices were very reasonable. Try the spa day, make reservations at the hotel, enjoy quiet time. Within walking distance of the best spots in the Sassi di Matera. Great stay, 6 out of 5 stars.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I asked for some body lotion after sauna and steam bath because I have very sensitive and dry skin, staff looked at me like I was asking for free champagne. Everything else was ok, but please guys body lotion after shower is necessary for 4 ⭐️ hotel, not 5 ⭐️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Inaugurated in 2018 ,Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel&Spa is not a classic 5-star hotel but a real village of charm and relaxation located in the center of the Sassi on a ridge of the #sassocaveoso district of Matera. This diffused hotel has 35 rooms and suites set in the tuff walls, obtained from the ancient caves of the original dwellings, perfectly preserved and enriched with modern technologies and design. The pride of this hotel is the "Aquatio Cave Luxury" wellness center with a splendid heated swimming pool set in natural stone. The small restaurant of the hotel is very nice. Excellent and varied breakfast!
With Aquatio Cave Luxury live the experience in the stones with your room between alleys and tuff. The cleaning is excellent, the courtesy kit is rich and well organized, everything is beautiful here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous hotel! Their suites are built in traditional Sassi with all the comfort you need and stylish furnitures. It is well adapted for a couple with a young baby.
The place is quite easy to access for Matera (300 meters from where you can park and only very few stairs to climb - it is manageable with a stroller).
The staff is adorable and always willing to make you feel home.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful hotel, the spa was amazing, shame only one visit per stay, and you have to pay for more visit . The restaurant was okay, the portions were tiny, the mains wasn’t even size of a starter, maybe cause we were really hungry. The breakfast options for Vegetarians and Vegans was very limited, only focaccia bread and toast, they tried by making us vegan Cake, which was delicious , would come back again but probably go eat elsewhere. The whole hotel is amazing interior

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing experience, luxurious unique cave style room with a futuristic vibe. The complimentary visit to the spa, pool and sauna was absolutely wonderful! We also had a lovely dinner at the restaurant, everything was delicious. Special thanks to Gabriele for taking care of us during dinner as well as Roberta for the warm welcome. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
