I would not recommend this as there are better restaurants in town. I think this is definitely overhyped. I was quite disappointed as I was expecting Michelin star food.

The food is based on the best products of the region and is creatively prepared and beautifully presented. The decore is elegant and rustic at the same time. The winelist is both regionall deep and extensive. This is the magic that happens when the owners care deeply about quality, tradition and creative innovation. Among the top 20 places where I have eaten. Wonderful!

M	Mr Marcus on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Both our pasta dishes were served cold on the inside and lukewarm at best on the outside. Both lacked all taste and freshness. My pasta was even overcooked, so how that can be cold in the middle reeks like warmed up food to me. The recommended wine was unfortunately supermarket level at best. After our complaint we just wanted to pay and leave and eat elsewhere. Apologies were sparse and I was more then unpleasantly surprised to be confronted with a full bill, which of course I refused to pay in full (we both only had one bite from our dishes). Just paid for the water and the bottle of wine that was kindly packed for us in a takeaway paper bag (you can retrieve it from the dustbin opposite your restaurant, if you like). The audacity….
A	Aldila D on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The location is off the main attraction in Matera. We came without a reservation but the staff showed us to a table right away. We ordered plate tasting antipasti which consisted of four small dishes local to the region. I like the ricotta with sweet celery. Then for main course we ordered lamb and veal. Présentation is good, taste is good and portion is big. There was a big group dining so the staffs were busy with them. My glass was empty since I finished the starter but was not offered another drink. Anyway, that's ok because it was compensated by the beautiful authentic architecture.
M	Max Martin on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were excited to dine here after seeing it recommended in various publications, but, unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. We ordered the mixed antipasti platter and explained that we are vegetarians. We were told that was no problem. On tasting it was clear that one of the antipasti contained fish. We explained again that we are vegetarians and were told that 'in Italy vegetarians eat fish'... As well as being an inappropriate way to deal with a customer, this is simply untrue. When our primi arrived, I was served a pasta that I did not order. When I raised the issue with the waiter he looked surprised, then told me that the one I had ordered had sold out. If this was true, it should have been explained to me before serving me an alternative that I did not choose. Later, a neighbouring table was served the pasta dish that I had originally ordered, suggesting that it had not, in fact, sold out... We enjoyed some nice local wine, good bread and olive oil, however quite serious mistakes were made and rather than receiving apologies we were lied to and patronised. Overall, not an enjoyable meal.
