★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fiumicino some times can be confusing and very crowded, but overall experience is very good. Decent shopping and eating options, and very, very clean bathrooms. Passport control at the arrival is their biggest problem, there are only 3-4 passport control desks working, out of 10, and you can easily wait over a hour to get a stamp.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All kinds of shop, the security controll was very fast with no waiting queue, many signs and a screens help you find the way. Modern design, many benches with plugs (traditional and USB), decent free WiFi connection. Many bars and restaurants to eat, mostly medium and high price. The staff is not always friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Flew into Rome on our trip to Catania from NY. This is one of the nicest and cleanest airports I've been too. Most of the staff/security personnel can speak English which makes non-fluent Italian natives who travel easy to communicate and navigate around the airport. On our flight layover we had an opportunity to check out the airport shops and I was absolutely floored! It felt as If I was in shopping mall! The number of different places to shop just amazed me. Only giving this 3 stars for the exceptional rude service we received at check in. The staff member who check us in complained about us checking in earlier than normal which shouldn't have been an issue considering most airports allow early flight check ins to avoid waiting times. I feel like the service could have been much better and I do believe check in staff should be trained better at handling stress in a consumer oriented place of travel...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1. The access to the airport in the night is terrible. There are very few buses and some of them don't even show up (had to spend 50€ in taxi/uber to compensate).
2. They don't check COVID passports at the entrance of the airport but they make every passenger use a FFP2 mask, otherwise it is impossible to board. This information is not shown anywhere and we just knew this when we were showing the boarding pass and ID card, so we had to go back in line and find some vending machine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The airport in general is renovated with nice stores, restaurants, coffee places. Spacious and clean toilets, nice areas, included work areas that looks helpful and a variety of lounges.
The service at the airport:
In the counter/desk sector is terrible. No self-check-in systems they use the manual old school system. Therefore you need to be there with enough time there, stay in cue, etc. The weights are different from one desk to another I need to pay 5 kg extra and when I came back to continue my check-in, another desk was available and I didn’t have the extra weight in this machine. So please, be aware of your baggage allowance and the actual weight of your ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice airport. You can get your Roma passes on the main floor before you go to the train toward Rome. The kiosks for the train can be put in English which was helpful for us
