Corrisponde al primo tratto di Via Labiena( Via Labiena interna) e piazza Matteotti, anticamente piazza Mercato dove si tenevano fin dal settecento il mercato delle granaglie e delle biade. A parte il cambiamento nelle insegne dei negozi la contrada è immutata da almeno l’Ottocento.
 One of the historical districts of Laveno. It corresponds to the first stretch of Via Labiena (internal Via Labiena) and Piazza Matteotti, formerly Piazza Mercato where the grain and grain market was held since the eighteenth century. Apart from the change in shop signs, the district has been unchanged since at least the nineteenth century.
