★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing!!!!! Wonderful views and incredible ambiance. The history here is thousands of years old and you can smell the Roman and Norman sweat. So many people miss salerno but that's a mistake.
I walked up from the old town which is dangerous and I don't recommend to ANYONE, too many cars... but it name the experience extra special.
A must see, and in my opinion a better site to see than many of the other regional sites.

If you are not by car, and good enough to climb up arround 350 meters from sea level its a hike worth trying. Walk up towards the castle’s direction from the duomo. Google maps shows a very different route which makes you walk more. There are stairs from the main road which goes all the way up to the castle. Its a path less travelled by people and if you like solitude you will never regret it. Basically no signboards. But follow the steps until it reaches the castle.

We had a good weather.
Because it was off season, the castle was closed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great views, very serene vibe. Walk up, it’s easy and the path is relaxing. Don’t use the car road, there is a walkway for pedestrians that is better and safer. Ask around for it since you can’t find it on Google Maps
