Si trova nella parte nord del centro storico, di fronte alla villa comunale. Il parroco don Claudio e' una persona stupenda. It is a church full of history as it presents an Arab style dome covered with glassware majolica. It is located in the northern part of the historic center, in front of the municipal villa. The parish priest don Claudio is a wonderful person.

Quest'ultima fu edificata in sostituzione della Santissima Annunziata Vecchia o Extra Moenia. DescrizioneLa chiesa presenta pianta rettangolare coperta da volta a botte unghiata; è a navata unica con abside e cupola emisferica, senza tamburo e con lanterna, decorata con un motivo a cassettoni e rosette. I lati sono caratterizzati da lesene scanalate con capitelli corinzi che riquadrano le cappelle. La chiesa presenta la facciata su via Portacatena arricchita da due nicchie sagomate in marmo, oggi prive delle statue previste dal progettista Francesco Ragozzino, situate ai lati del portale sovrastato da un tondo a bassorilievo rappresentante l'Annunciazione; la porta è in rame sbalzato. La facciata è divisa orizzontalmente da una fascia marcapiano e verticalmente da otto lesene: quattro nella parte inferiore, lisce, con capitelli ionici; quattro in quella superiore, scanalate, con capitelli corinzi. Chiude il tutto un timpano triangolare. 1626 - 1627 (entire building) The building, built in 1627 with the name of Santissima Annunziata Nuova, replaced the old church of the late fifteenth century which, in 1626, was destroyed by a flood. The latter was built to replace the Santissima Annunziata Vecchia or Extra Moenia. Description The church has a rectangular plan covered by a barrel vaulted ceiling; it has a single nave with apse and hemispherical dome, without drum and with lantern, decorated with a coffered motif and rosettes. The sides are characterized by fluted pilasters with Corinthian capitals that frame the chapels. The church has the façade on via Portacatena enriched by two shaped marble niches, today without the statues envisaged by the designer Francesco Ragozzino, located on the sides of the portal surmounted by a bas-relief round representing the Annunciation; the door is in embossed copper. The facade is divided horizontally by a string course and vertically by eight pilasters: four in the lower part, smooth, with Ionic capitals; four in the upper one, fluted, with Corinthian capitals. The whole is closed by a triangular tympanum.

L'interno è a navata unica. I restauri sono recenti e sono stati realizzati cercando di recuperare materiali preesistenti. . Sullo sfondo il castello di Arechi. Di recente ristrutturata, mi capita spesso di passarvi vicino quando vado al Teatro Verdi, e di ricordare con nostalgia gli aneddoti, le piccole, grandi storie dei miei nonni, legati alla vita di quartiere della Salerno di un tempo, così autentica, semplice e, soprattutto, ritmata dalle ritualità religiose con spontaneo slancio spirituale. The wonderful, picturesque church of '' Annunziata, Via Sprockets, is at the heart of all the faithful of the Old Town. Recently renovated, I often pass by when I go to the Teatro Verdi, and remember with nostalgia anecdotes, small, great stories of my grandparents, linked to neighborhood life of Salerno of the past, so authentic, simple and, above all, marked by religious rituals with spontaneous spiritual impetus.
